Children In The Yard or Men with Margaritas? Still working on my silly little paintings. Hopefully I’ll finish this one before the nukes start dropping… #nevernotworking #ceycity #dinnerwithafriend
Nina Simone has a quote that I really like “It’s an artist duty to reflect the times in which we live”. When Trump had his rally at Madison Square Garden I had to skate down there and catch some flicks where I ran into these beautiful specimens of humanity. Shits Illmatic out the so watch yer back. “Miss Amerikkka and Captain Corrosion” 48 x 42” or something like that… #itainthardtotelliexcel #fuckice #ifyoudontlikeitsowhatidontcare #donavic #jasonshithead

I’m probably bit late on this post. Lots to think about and sometimes life gets all up in yer ass. This was a super big gut punch when I got the news. I have know this distinguished gentleman for 30 some odd years. He let me crash on his floor in Queens and his Mom cooked a killer vegetarian dinner. He took me to Henry’s studio to gaze upon the photo collection. He stayed with me in D.C. when he started Beat Down and we went to Howard University’s Hip-Hop Conference. He invited me to do illustration for Mass Appeal and work on The White Rapper Show. We would connect, talk and break bread together many times over the years. But, most of all he was a kind soul who I was proud to call a friend and proud of him to see all he accomplished. If you don’t know peep his resume, if you do know you are a fortunate soul. I’ll end this with some words by the man himself “ The journey that is life is one filled with tragic potholes. Put your seatbelt on.” God speed Sacha and thank you for your friendship. #shrrip #sachajenkinsshr #shrblk #sachajenkinsrip #sachajenkins
“Nadia Dajani - Barnes and Noble NYC, 2023” 48 x 46” Nadia @caughtoffbase is a friend of mine and we use to play softball together and she throws a pretty epic Thanksgiving shindig. This painting is based of a quick flick I snapped of her at Barnes and Noble when we were there to see Dante Ross speak and sign copies of his book “Son of the City”. She shot me that look and it just oozed some “watcha talking about Willis” vibes and I knew it would make a great piece. Now here’s a little back story. Nadia has a brother Geeby who use to do a radio show @fortydeucenyc on East Village Radio. I use to stop by and have some beers and maybe smoke a little something while the crew spun some classic tunes. Geeby was the most down to earth chill guys. We just had some good what about life talks over beers. Turns out he was one third of the SD-50’s production team that put out some epic early 90’s Hip-Hop that I loved. He never even mentioned that to me when I got to know him. It’s all in Dante’s book so go cop a copy for a good read. So one day I told him I was headed to softball and he mentioned his sister plays. I skated cross town to the game and walked up to Nadia and told her “I didn’t know Geeby was your brother?!” I had been knowing them both in two separate ways not knowing they were family. It’s a small mixed world sometimes! Geeby unfortunately passed away a few years back and this painting is dedicated to him! Miss ya homie! And speaking of @danteross , yer up next my man, the piece is already underway. #me62 #geebydajani #nadiadajani #danteross #fourtydueceradio #cycletc5 #cycleimok
