@SceneNoise #NoiseSets: This week on Select, we welcome Cyber Witch, a Palestinian DJ, producer and sound engineer, whose sets are an avant-garde patchwork of Mediterranean alternative influences, meshed together with experimental electronic, techno house and ambient textures. Cyber Witch is also a curator and resident at Radio Flouka, where she hosts ‘Witchy Hour’, a monthly show dedicated to spotlighting talents from the underground electronic scene across the region. For our number 355 of Select, she has cooked an hour mix of experimental techno imbued with layers of hypnotic rhythms, atmospheric textures and forward-thinking sound design. The set features a taste-making selection of tracks, such as Postdrone & Otteswed’s ‘Bir Ad-Dir’, BLANKA’s ‘Talk to Me’, Tsukuyomi’s ‘Hollow’, along with one of her own productions Hudood. May feels hazy & cinematic ✧ Witchy Hour welcomes @theskinnypablo , taking over the airwaves for a journey through memory, collage and uncut sonic landscapes. ✧ Skinny Pablo aka ras dude aka JP is a multi instrumental musical artist, filmmaker, designer and native from the Island of Guam. For years he has been traveling the world, creating music parallel to his environments including LA, NYC, Paris, Mosel, and recently Tokyo. This mix for Witchy Hour is a collage of sounds collected on the SP404mkii around the world, over a course of 3 years. A vault of music never heard by the public until now. The beginning of the mix dives into Tokyo and Osaka loop sessions crafted from Skinny’s hand cut vinyl, (created in front of live audiences). Followed up by Guam Blues Sessions and a round trip from the solitude of Skinny’s Mosel Atelier and the Naples session. The Parisian guitar recordings echo back to the Mosel cinema sessions, feat sample collages from rare films. The Berlin Sessions follow, sample driven collages derived from the crates of esteemed vinyl collector, Ingwa. The mix closes out with a preview of the sequel to Skinny’s debut record production - Paris Mosel. Paris Mosel II - an interpretation of sublime terror. The music can be described as Uncut, Borderless Abstraction. Witchy Hour welcomes @nadine_unofficial , taking over the airwaves for a one hour journey through groove, texture and playful motion. ✧ Beirut born, Nad!Ne developed her musical identity through the city’s vibrant underground scene. Her sound takes cues from Richie Hawtin, James Zabiela and Ricardo Villalobos while staying rooted in the rhythm and character of her earliest inspiration in old school Hip-hop. With House as her foundation, her eclectic sound navigates through Minimal, Breaks and Progressive rhythms, all delivered with a playful energy that moves the crowd and keeps the dance floor alive. She has performed in cities including Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Paris, Dubai and Beirut, with appearances at KitKat, Kater, Umi, Château Perché, B018 and more. Whether in clubs, festivals, art galleries or fashion shows, she enjoys connecting with people through warm, groovy selections.
