A bridal shoot with a horse? This is how you do it 🐴✨
Set at Findon Place, a gorgeous Sussex country house, this editorial reimagines countryside bridal through a modern, fashion-led lens. Drawing on subtle equestrian influences and British heritage, the styling weaves in traditional tailoring and countryside references in a way that feels considered, not costume. Shot by @cuttlebonephotography , who works across both weddings and equine, this concept brings those two worlds together in a way that feels authentic. Equestrian style is often referenced in fashion, but rarely explored in bridal like this, kept subtle, intentional and true to the setting.

Abi & Luke
I can’t tell you just how beautiful this wedding was. The story of how Abi and I met is a funny one; she shares the exact same name as a singer friend of mine, and years ago I accidentally tagged the wrong person in a post. We ended up messaging, laughing about how often it happens to her, and a friendship grew from there. So when she asked me to capture her wedding, I was beyond honoured.
The day itself was gorgeous: a heartfelt ceremony at Arundel Town Hall, confetti by the castle gates, and a wander through the little lanes before heading back to The Seaview in East Preston for the reception. Abi’s mum lovingly grew the flowers, her sister created the bouquet and table displays, Luke’s mum baked the stunning cake, and her veil (which stole the show more than once) was a Vinted treasure.
I had the best time chatting with their friends and family over delicious food, camera perched on my lap ready for those in-between moments.
In the days leading up to the wedding I’d been keeping an eye on the sunsets, and as hoped, the sky gave us something magical. We headed down to the beach and it was the most dreamiest way to finish an already beautiful day.
I left them dancing into the night and drove home with a full heart.
Just a few frames from their highlight gallery.

I like to tell a story when taking photos and capture it as though I’m reading a book with a beginning, a middle and an end.
My inspiration for Bethany here was of a circus performer living in Paris, who has just finished a show and is on the way home.
The stage lights fade, the applause quiets, and the magic lingers in the air.
Walking home through cobblestone streets in the afterglow of a performance... a quiet symphony of glitter, grace, and exhaustion.
Ballet slippers still worn, sequin fringing reflecting in the pink evening sky and the night whispers ‘you are free’
Here’s to chasing the spotlight.

Gorgeous wedding for L & J on Saturday at the iconic Dome cinema where the sun shone all day pouring light through the giant windows.
With nods to the bride’s Sicilian roots with olive branches decorating the space and two kinds of cannoli instead of wedding cake, it was such a perfect day.
As for the confetti, more is definitely more; once the coastal gusts caught it, it became a swirling, colourful blizzard through which I could do little but shoot blind!

Champagne in the gardens, spring sunshine pouring through the house and such a relaxed atmosphere from the moment I arrived. Intimate weddings like this always remind me that you don’t need a huge production for a day to feel incredibly special.
Planning a manor house wedding in Sussex? Findon Place offers romantic gardens, elegant historic interiors and beautiful countryside surroundings that feel calm, private and relaxed from the moment you arrive. A perfect setting for long spring and summer days spent mostly outdoors.

Yes, Margo really did go into the house!
It was a shot both Caroline and I had our hearts set on, but only if she felt completely comfortable.
Including a horse in a styled shoot comes with so many considerations. First and foremost, it’s about choosing the right temperament, not just the look. While Margo hadn’t done anything like this before, Aileen and I felt she’d be perfect. She’s incredibly kind, calm on the ground, and very little fazes her.
I also made sure to brief the entire supplier team, both in the weeks leading up to the shoot and again on the day. Safety is everything when working with horses. They can react quickly, so keeping a respectful distance (unless directed otherwise) is key.
With this being the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Zodiac, I’ve had more enquiries about equine sessions. While I’d love to accommodate everyone, it’s not always possible. Most of my sessions are with experienced horse owners, and there are a lot of safety factors to consider. So if I ever have to decline, please know it’s always with care and safety in mind 🤍

As both a wedding and equine photographer, bringing these two sides of my work together felt really important to me with this shoot.
Equestrian style is often referenced in fashion, but it’s not something you see explored in a natural, authentic way within bridal editorials. I wanted it to feel subtle and considered rather than obvious or themed, so it still felt true to the setting and the couple. It’s not something I’ve seen featured in this way before, and it felt exciting to create something that reflects both my work and what I’m drawn to creatively.
It feels like a modern take on countryside bridal style; understated, timeless, and influenced by that equestrian way of life I’m always drawn to.

It’s been so so hard sitting on these images for so long, but now that the feature has gone out on @rockmywedding I can now share the frames from what was the most amazing and fulfilling shoot.
I’ve been wanting to merge my two photography worlds into an editorial shoot for years. Years ago I had planned one but then Covid hit and it got squashed and I just never got round to organising another.
I am so eternally grateful to some truly wonderful supplier friends from both the wedding and the equine word for enabling me to pull this off, including Caroline for having us at her wonderful home and to Margo who totally rocked her new modelling role.
