Can a TV channel change your life? For these people, it did.
To mark the channel’s 40th anniversary, we set out to tell stories that go deeper than nostalgia, ones that remind you what it feels like to be truly inspired. That moment as a kid when something just clicked, and suddenly, the world felt within reach.
We travelled from Scotland to Portugal, France, and South Africa to meet people who had had the exact same feeling growing up, watching the Discovery Channel, acting on that early spark of inspiration, and following it into the lives they live today.
We can all recognise those feelings of wonder, curiosity, and excitement, and getting to experience these brilliant humans doing what they love was honestly so moving.

Has there ever been a more varied end to a year? 🙌
A quick phone dump from recent shoots says it all. 📸
From snowy slopes to the desert, and Balearic runways to breakfast chocolate fountains… it’s been a wild one.
We’ve worked with amazing people, been in some ridiculous locations, and racked up hours of footage still waiting to be brought to life .
Also: a ski slope in the Arctic Circle and the roof of our favourite stadium 🏴 (and plenty we can’t really show!).
But this week, we’re back in the studio. First one in a while without a shoot on the calendar. The festive playlist is on, the edit suites are humming, and we’re locking in some fun new projects for 2026.

We’ve done some wild things with our friends at @redbull over the years, but this one really was another level.
Our latest work took off this week (pun fully intended): a world first attempt to launch a plane powered only by the strength and teamwork of pro cyclists.
An incredible project to be part of, from the technical challenge, to the logistics of coordinating it all and working with the riders to get it to launch.
Huge effort from everyone at @redbullbike and @redbullborahansgrohe who took this on and made it real.

The Final Chapter. Super proud career moment to see episode 8, the final episode, of #N1N0BEYOND going live today. This culminating episode has been nearly 2 years in the making and has been a dream project to be a part of. Big kudos to @andrewashworth for seeing the bigger picture throughout and bringing something together that highlights the defining moments of @nschurter ’s life and career.
A personal highlight is getting to be at the Lenzerheide World Cup on the ground and back on the tools. 🎥 It was wild to see what these athletes can do in person.

This episode captures the culmination of @nschurter journey: the build-up, the emotion, and that iconic final race on home soil in Lenzerheide, surrounded by an adoring Swiss crowd who’ve lived every high and low with him.
To be there, cameras rolling, as an entire valley chanted ‘Nino’ for the greatest athlete mountain biking has ever known… it’s definitely something we’ll never forget.
It was more than a race, it was a celebration: a moment filled with pride, gratitude, but also the pressure of wanting to deliver for the people who’ve supported him his entire career.
Working with @bikeonscott , Nino and his whole team on this series has been a genuine privilege. Helping to tell the human story behind a legend is the kind of work we’re incredibly proud to do at Cut Media.
We’ve poured everything into this final chapter.
