Thank you to all the Toro alumni who joined us for this year‘s annual @asicsudh banquet, some traveling far as Washington DC to be there for the special night!
We were proud to celebrate our award winners, graduating seniors, incoming student leaders, and to honor the incredible legacies of Rasheeda Shakur and Shamshad Elimu on their retirement.
A special thank you to California State assembly member of the 62nd district Jose Solache and Mayor of Long Beach Rex Richardson for their generous $10,000 contribution to ASI in honor of our retirees.
To those we missed, we hope to see you at the next one!

Celebrating Decades of Leadership at @asicsudh !
It was an honor to join the CSUDH Associated Students, Inc. banquet and celebration to recognize two incredible leaders who have dedicated their careers to empowering the next generation of Toro leaders.
Rasheedah Shakoor
Since April 18, 2011, Rasheedah has served as the Executive Director of ASI, providing over 14 years of steadfast leadership and visionary service to the organization.
Shamshad Elimu
Shamshad has been a pillar of ASI since my very first year serving as ASI President. Her profound impact has shaped countless students who have gone on to become influential leaders in our communities.
Both of these phenomenal women are entering a well-deserved retirement after decades of service. Their legacy lives on in the students they mentored and the organization they helped build.
Please join me in congratulating Rasheedah and Shamshad and wishing them the absolute best in their next chapter!

Alumni like Hersson Preciado are redefining what it means to give back. As part of our Dinner with Toros, Hersson put his own spin on the experience, hosting four students for breakfast at Topgolf, where conversation and connection met a unique hands-on setting. ⛳️🏌️♂️
Students had the opportunity to build relationships while learning professional meetings can happen beyond the traditional office, gaining insight into networking, communication, and showing up with confidence in any environment. 🤝💼
Thank you Hersson for creating a memorable and impactful experience for our Toros!
If you would like to host a dinner experience for students, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at [email protected] or call (310)-243-2237.
Last night in Washington, D.C., our alumni community came together for a memorable CSU Alumni Congressional Reception. 🇺🇸
It was a special evening as Toros had the opportunity to meet President @csudhmav and CSU Chancellor Mildred Garcia, reconnect with fellow graduates, and engage with the broader CSU alumni network.
Events like these highlight the strength, impact, and reach of our Toro community—both locally and across the nation.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to represent CSUDH with pride. Once a Toro, always a Toro! 🤘🐂
We’re grateful for alumna Keyonna Kidd Goins for opening her doors—and her heart—to our Toros 🐂✨
As part of our *Dinner with Toros* program, Keyonna put her own spin on the experience—hosting students for a special breakfast in her @collab_carson studio filled with meaningful conversation and connection.
Moments like these create lasting impact, giving students a chance to learn, grow, and be inspired by those who once walked the same path.
Thank you, Keyonna, for pouring into the next generation of Toros 💛❤️ #DinnerWithToros #ToroPride #CSUDHAlumni #FutureLeaders
