🎓 Meet outstanding grad Sydney Andrus 💛💚 A Construction Management Ram from Colorado Springs, Sydney spent her time at CSU building more than projects. She built community. She arrived interested in Civil Engineering but quickly found her place in Construction Management, drawn to the hands on experience and real world learning. As a member, and this past year president, of the Women in Construction Club, Sydney stayed deeply involved. “It was such a beneficial experience with networking opportunities, site tours, crafting, volunteering, volleyball tournaments, and building relationships with my peers.” Now, Sydney is heading into her next chapter as a Project Engineer with Saunders Construction. She credits the CM program with preparing her for the role and setting her up for success. Congrats, Sydney. We cannot wait to see how you help build a better world 🏗️✨

Shout out to CM Ram, Kathleen Henneuse, who’s helping to bring the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Lab to life ⚡️ After presenting her research poster on the immersive classroom display at the Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Showcase, Kathleen and our industry partners at @aldridge_electric made it a reality. By using real-time regional power data, physical electrical components, and a high-voltage Jacob’s Ladder demonstration, the exhibit showcases the path electricity takes from power plants to commercial and residential systems. Way to go, Kathleen, and thank you to the great folks at Aldridge!

Last week, our CM Student Board of Directors hosted an 80th-anniversary trivia night, and it was a great reminder of what makes CM at CSU so special! With representation from students, faculty, and staff, we had a full house of CM trivia experts. The trivia categories said it all: Our Department’s History, Know Your Professors, and Construction Tools and Equipment. We had lots of laughs, a little friendly competition, and a room full of Ram Built energy 🐏 Thank you to our student leaders for creating a fun way to celebrate 80 years (1946–2026) while bringing the Ramily together. Stay tuned for more throughout the year!

Earth Day is all about building a more sustainable future — our @csu_cm Sustainable Construction Club takes that to another level! 🌎♻️🏗️ The Rams recently toured the AnyThing Nature Library in Thornton, a nature‑inspired community space designed around ecological connection and learning. Students saw environmentalist principles come to life through the project’s Environmental Kinship Model and sustainability-forward features like natural daylighting, intentional material choices, integrated landscape design, LEED Gold goals, and more! This all works together toward what’s envisioned as Thornton’s most energy‑efficient building. Thank you to @ghphipps Construction, especially Ismael Acosta and Justin Ochsner, and the entire project team for hosting us and sharing insights into the design and construction process 🤝
