I was reminded of this wedding I photographed in 2012 when I heard the sad news about the Adirondac tour boat. For decades this boat has been part of the Lake George experience, and earlier this week it suffered major damages from a morning fire. In Sept. 2012, the weather was fine as the bride and her family members got ready for the wedding at a home on the lake. The skies darkened and the wind picked up when the ladies boarded a classic Chris-Craft boat to motor to the Village of Lake George where the Adirondac was docked. What was supposed to be a pleasant ride turned rough, and the women hunkered down as they tried to save their carefully styled hair and makeup. As they approached the Adirondac, wedding guests took pictures with actual cameras as the boat arrived (striking now to see people's faces rather than just phones). Heartbreaking to cover the funeral for beloved @sienalacrosse coach Liam Gleason for @newsday . He died last week from a traumatic head injury after a home accident. Liam was 41 and leaves behind a wife and three young children. Before taking the head coaching job at @sienauniversity Liam played and coached lacrosse at @ualbanysports with coach Scott Marr, who spoke during the funeral. Unbelievably, Liam's 9-year-old daughter Kennedy also spoke. A standing room only crowd of more than 1,500 people attended the service at UHY Center at Siena in Loudonville, N.Y. Covering this tragic story at this time of year was also difficult for me because my oldest brother died 11 years ago on Dec. 7th under similar conditions.
