For us, collecting art has never been about ownership. It’s about stewardship. @crystalmccrary and I see ourselves as custodians, preserving and sharing the work of extraordinary artists, especially Black artists, so that their stories, brilliance, and legacy endure for generations to come. This fall, the @studiomuseum will reopen its doors in a new home on 125th Street. A project that has been years in the making, and one that I, as Chair of the Board, am deeply honored to have helped lead alongside the indefatigable @thelmagolden and the Board. The Studio Museum has always been an anchor of the Black art world, homed in the sanctuary of Harlem. It has been a space where artists of African descent are not only exhibited but celebrated, shaping the cultural narrative for us all. As I reflect on this recent feature, I’m reminded that art is not just something we live with; it’s part of who we are. It carries memory, history, and hope. Our responsibility is to ensure these works remain in dialogue, in motion, and accessible to the world. We don’t collect to possess. We collect to preserve. We collect to pass it on to inspire future generations and to respect those pioneers on whose shoulders we stand. Thank you to @soulistaphd and @townandcountrymag for sharing our story.

With 60 million registered players ages 6-18, youth sports is estimated to be a ~$40 Billion market in annual spend (registration, equipment, travel, and instruction) & is expected to grow to $70 Billion by 2030. As demand, interest, and capital investments grow, parents are seeing the impact in their pockets, now spending an average of $883 per child per season ($1,002 annually per child youth basketball), according to the Aspen Institute. As this space continues to grow at such a rapid pace, GameUp’s mission is to not only provide the necessary resources for parents and players to navigate their youth basketball journey, but also to help eliminate financial barriers for families who want to enroll their kids in basketball programs. This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the women who show up for everyone, on and off the court. Crystal McCrary McGuire created @gameup.nyc to help parents navigate the maze of youth sports programs, starting with basketball and expanding into other sports, so every family gets the guidance they deserve. We love seeing her continue to show up, including for the moms at Mothers Ball. Thank you Crystal for paving new ways. Here’s to you and all the mothers changing the game. Happy Mother’s Day!

One of my biggest joys as a basketball mom has been the enduring relationships my family has made over the years with coaches, parents, teammates, event operators, trainers, and many more in this exciting world. Through the many highs and lows, one thing remains true - the game has brought us immeasurable happiness. And now, having co-founded the youth sports platform, @gameup.nyc three years ago, it has been an incredible honor to partner with @positivecoachus in their @disney @espn #TakeBackSports Campaign ensuring children and parents keep the FUN in sports. We were also thrilled to collaborate with @madehoops for their East Coast Middle School All-Star Invitational at their brand new state of art facility in Brooklyn! Congratulations @chad.babel The space exceeded my expectations! Amy Brooks from the NBA, a certified PCA trainer, made a compelling presentation for the attendees on the importance of providing a nurturing environment for youth athletes. Thank you to all of the families who participated in the presentation and especially the volunteers! You know who you are! And thank you as always to our @gameup.nyc COO @kelvin_gerard for keeping everything running smoothly (or shall I say, running period😂) Last, congratulations to my baby boy @leo_mcguire.12 for being selected as one of the MADE Hoops East Coast Middle School All-Stars.
