When interior designer @martha_mulholland reimagined G&G’s Charleston headquarters, she needed fabrics that could keep up with a busy editorial schedule and a full calendar of events. Her solution: a partnership between North Carolina–crafted @cryptonfabric , whose textiles blend Southern elegance with everyday performance, and Austin furniture designer @fourhandsfurniture . The Crypton showroom is being prepped for Interwoven, a B2B textile trade show, where the foundation of a design trend begins to take shape.
Shown here is Galore, one of the three Crypton trend directions for F/W 2026. This design story brings back an appreciation for ornamentation and romantic detail. It draws from the elegance of Art Deco and the softness of time-faded textiles, but interprets them through a modern lens. These textiles tell a story through surface, texture, and repetition. Galore is more refined. More feminine.
One of the questions I get most often is: What exactly is performance fabric?
In simple terms, it is fabric designed to handle real life.
One of my go-to brands is @cryptonfabric . Their fabrics are soft, stylish, and available in beautiful colors and patterns, but they are also engineered to resist spills, stains, and everyday wear.
That means yes, even a white dining chair can be a practical choice.
Watch this quick demonstration to see just how easily Crypton performance fabrics clean up.
Beautiful, durable, and family-friendly. What’s not to love?

INTERWOVEN PART 1: Here’s a sneak peek of what we will be debuting at Interwoven, an exciting B2B trade show, hosted by @internationaltextilealliance . The next show kicks off next Tuesday, May 19, and our textile designers have been working hard to dazzle buyers and attendees.
We will be showcasing three design stories featuring new patterns, colors, textures, and designs to manufacturers and textile houses worldwide. Some will be chosen, while others may be added to our fabric archives.
The three design stories are:
KIN: (shown here) reimagines heritage for a generation that lives across time periods, cultures, and personal stories. This is not nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. It is a blending of past and present in a way that feels honest, warm, and deeply lived-in.
VITALITY: is the aesthetic of abundance. A place where nature doesn’t whisper, it flourishes. Rooted in tropical undertones and botanical exuberance, this design approach transforms any environment into a lush escape, turning homes and gathering places into destinations that feel like a vacation.
GALORE: brings back an appreciation for ornamentation and romantic detail. It draws from the elegance of Art Deco and the softness of time-faded textiles, but interprets them through a modern lens. These textiles tell a story through surface, texture, and repetition.
Lock in for the week to catch more glimpses of what you will see in the 2027 interior design world.
What do you do when 2000 yards of performance fabric lands on your doorstep? @nicolemcrowder decided to go on tour, an upholstery workshop tour that is. IYKYK
If you haven’t heard the news, Nicole is teaching a 3-hour hands-on upholstery workshop in a city near you. You bring a simple chair and will learn, step by step, how to strip and reupholster it, and, surprise, we provided the fabric. Yes, you can bring your own, but lock in on that video. There are some really pretty patterns in there that we know you’ll love.
We popped the link in our bio if you want to check out the workshop dates and locations. Also, check out @nicolemcrowder ’s profile and be sure to give this talented lady a follow.
@cryptonfabric because you should be able to live in your home stress free and still have it feel beautiful, even through the messes.
It really comes down to the materials you choose. Crypton fabric is designed with built in protection that resists stains, moisture, and odors, so spills do not soak in the way they do with most fabrics. That is why we use it so often. They partner with so many of our favorite vendors, which means you can find beautiful options that do not sacrifice style, they simply protect against real life.

Designed by @parini.design , @theapparatusroom is a contemporary restaurant, popular within the local culinary scene. Located in the @detroitfoundationhotel , it was once the home of Detroit’s firetruck cavalry.
Parini selected Crypton contract fabrics for the space, and we are obsessed with the final look. Sophisticated, elevated, and ready for all the spills and stains that happen in a high-traffic environment.

We were blown away when we saw @findthethread transform these vintage, vinyl-covered chairs with Crypton performance fabric from the @unitedfabrics Heirloom Archives Collection.
Mixing and matching the vintage-inspired patterns gave these retro chairs an added touch of whimsy, don’t you think?
Featured here are a bold floral print named Flora and a ditzy pattern named Kitt. Learn more about the collection by clicking on the link in our bio, and if you’re in the Brooklyn area looking for an upholsterer to transform your vintage furniture, be sure to call Ruti at Find The Thread.
@arceriinteriors could not part with her @arhaus two-piece Kipton sectional, so she put it in storage, knowing she wanted it reupholstered in a darker color. Enter Crypton! She chose Adrea Chocolate, a rich, luscious brown. What do you think? Did she make the right choice? We think so!

Throwing it back to Fall High Point Market and the @uttermostcompany showroom. These pieces are available at @revelationbyuttermost and feature the Tweedy Bird, a Crypton performance fabric.
