A fresh take on the console silhouette, Spike is defined by material contrast and expressive craftsmanship. Its elongated form is topped in rare curly maple, where the figured grain creates a sense of movement — almost like flowing water across the surface — while solid walnut legs anchor the piece, extending visibly through the top in a bold display of joinery. This interplay of light and dark — figured maple against rich walnut end grain — creates a striking visual tension that draws the eye.

Originally conceived in the early 1970s, Scoop captures Baughman’s unmistakable approach to modern design: light in scale, sculptural in form, and grounded in comfort. An upholstered shell appears to float within a polished stainless steel frame, a balance of structure and ease that still feels entirely current.
Inside the frame, a curved form supports a relaxing supportive seat, while the signature rolled arms and tailored detailing bring a quiet refinement to the silhouette. It’s a study in proportion and restraint — where nothing feels overworked, and everything feels considered.
For its debut, Scoop is presented in Ultrasuede® Malibu — a material chosen as thoughtfully as the design itself. Known for its exceptionally soft hand, durability, and performance, Ultrasuede offers a modern expression that complements the chair’s original intent.
