… the hiiii lites cntd; more surfing with leigh, basketball with my family, my cousin john graduates, barnaby’s now a teenager, more filmmaking with great people, rocco’s hair grows back, katya and adam get married and throw us all an epic festival, molly takes me to see my favorite fighters in a truly historic night for women’s boxing, act in a film by sam and kyle alongside the devil fka john, london with leigh and kerry, reunion with alan, oasis with leigh, spot my spirit animal, cliffs with mama, napoli with pa, grace meets rocco, jasiel djs, thank god molly was born, direct nicole’s film with some of my favorite former students, direct tony’s play upstate with two beauts, see alex shine, visit my sister who’s kicking ass in cambridge, music nights, teaching days, cuddles with rocco my little warrior princess, hangs with friends new and old, install solar panels with luke, salute another great year at stonestreet, italian premiere of lasciare in beautiful salerno with the inimitable laura, test footage with the wickedly talented maria as we shoot (for) the moon ,,,,,
when we were in hs, leigh and i would ride around with javi in his jeep and we’d listen to “it’s nice to be alive” by ball park music ~ i havent listened to it since but i’m reminded of it now. thankful. onwards. x
, nostalgia is a cruel lil lover of mine, so i normally stay away from the photo app.. happy i was encouraged to piece this together and reflect. i think that, after all the memory scrolling, the fact that i’m feeling nothing but grateful has a lot to do with the people in my life. and Rocco. she’s incredible. i am lucky.
& so, the first half of therunonsentenceof25: twelve films in fourteen weeks with the stonestreet fam, la with my aunt and best friends to screen my first ever film, Rocco gets cancer, Rosemary turns 85, Carson wins the race, protests, teaching, music, Rocco gets surgery and i watch in complete awe as she handles it like the warrior she is, more films made with beautiful community, Lasciare screens in new york, more teaching, learning, Rocco finally gets her cone off and begins to heal with the company and help of friends, more music, more cheering on the people i love, the sun starts to warm up & i’m surfing with Leigh…
, what an adventure with my dear beautiful friend Laura, to celebrate the italian premiere of Lasciare ♥︎ on top of taking me to the erboristeria and cooking me all different delicious zuppe to get rid of the crazy cold i caught, Laura also helped me prepare my speech to accept our award… but uh, honestly i got so overwhelmed i think i blacked out and seemingly ended it with “mio cuore è boomboomboom”… and that about sums the whole thing up! ~ i feel so grateful and my heart beats loud ❤️🔥
