Some images of the eight months spent away from home and family, at @carleton_architecture , undertaking my doctoral studies. It all started on 25th August with the entire family dropping me off in Ottawa(tough to say goodbye). Then two semesters of immense learning and some teaching, no other commitments or distractions, fully focused on archival research, plenty of reading and some productive writing. I was privileged to be incredibly well received at this wonderful school of architecture at Carleton. During this adventure I spent quite sometime at the @canadiancentreforarchitecture reviewing and studying #alvarosiza sketchbooks, not without enjoying the underground architecture of Montreal. No comment on the Canadian winter…! I also enjoyed great art collection at the @natgallerycan in some quiet winter Sundays. In the meantime my essay “A Path Not Taken”, on the beginning of Álvaro Siza’s project for the FAUP was published by @routledgearchitecture in the book Uncommonly Precedents (edited by @federica.goffi , @isabel.potworowski and @knwashco ) Thank you to @federica.goffi and all my professors and colleagues in the seminars, for the support with my PhD and all people tagged for discussing my work with them and for inviting me to discuss the work of their students, plus professors Janine Debanne and Anne Bordeleau for the intense but very valuable experience to which they were great facilitators.
