NCC Waterway Design Challenge

A national student design challenge hosted by the National Capital Commission focused on creating public installations that connect people to the Ottawa River and its history.
Our inspiration came from the way water moves and the structure of its watershed. We envisioned a repeated pavilion that draws people toward the water and creates moments of pause along the river’s edge. These pavilions form gathering spaces called story wells, designed to encourage interaction and community.
Each structure connects to the water through its dock. A canopy system collects rainwater and returning it to the river. These repeated modular pavilions create a continuous experience that links people and the river together.

Reimagines Villa Planchart in Venezuela, transforming a traditional wall into an interactive space that supports iguana habitats and builds a stronger connection between people and nature.
Studio 2 - Final Project
Nighthawk Learning Centre
The design is inspired by the Common Nighthawk connect between rock and sky, expressed through a large gabion base that filters light behind it and a floating cantilevered glass form.
The cantilever roof also supports the bird with a gravel, rocky surface that can accommodate its natural nesting behaviour.
