Honestly, I don’t fully agree. Walk with me…
The Bible says, “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16).
It didn’t say your connection with people—it said your gift.
So, even if you have Dangote or Bill Gates in your circle, you won’t automatically become wealthy. Why? Because the first question anyone—even Dangote—will ask is: “What can you do?”
This isn’t to downplay the power of relationships.
Networking is important, and building the right connections matters. But before all that, you must have something of value to offer.

Last time I shared about the agbero who lost his chance because of distraction.
So, how do we stay focused and avoid losing out when opportunities show up?
🔑 A few simple thoughts:
Clarity – Know what you want. When you’re clear, it’s harder to be pulled away.
Discipline – Focus is not just about saying “yes,” it’s about saying “no” to what doesn’t align.
Presence – Be fully in the moment. Sometimes the opportunity is right in front of us, but we’re too busy scrolling, worrying, or comparing.
Distractions will always come, but staying grounded helps us catch the moment that can change everything.
👉 Stay present. Stay focused.

Last week Tuesday, on my way to the office, I witnessed something inside a public bus that made me pause and reflect.
An agbero approached our bus demanding payment from the conductor for carrying passengers.
The conductor agreed but asked him to wait until more passengers boarded.
The moment the agbero looked sideways, the driver zoomed off, leaving him behind.
That simple incident struck me deeply. In life, many people also miss out on promising opportunities not because they lack potential, but because they lose focus and get distracted at the critical moment.
👉 In all we do, we must not relent.
Paying attention to our work, to our environment, and to the details can make the difference between seizing opportunity and missing it.
