Nani’s Aangan | An Ode to our Grandmother 🤍 In our family the manja is a pre-wedding event that marks the beginning of wedding festivities in the bride’s home. A moment rooted in tradition, simplicity and culture, the manja holds immense significance and meaning as the bride steps into a new chapter of her life. Almost two years ago, we lost the pillar and strength of our family - our nani, around the same time that Nezha baji & Haider bhai met. Nani’s one wish for the longest time was to see her eldest grandchild (Nezha baji) married, and we truly believe it was only with her love and duas that this special relationship came to be. It was only fitting to dedicate the start of the celebrations to our nani - the woman whose grace, warmth and quiet strength shaped the very heart of our home. Nani’s Aangan was filled with moments and keepsakes that reminded us of her - from a handwritten cookbook to a 10 year anniversary letter, this space truly encapsulated everything that she was. This manja was so much more than just a tribute - it was a reflection of everything nani’s home has always been to us; a place of gentle love, belonging and memories. In standing amongst all of the women in our family on Nezha baji’s manja day, we felt her presence more than ever, woven into the very fabric of who we all are. We miss nani so dearly, and though she may not have been with us physically, her presence and love was echoed throughout all of our family present on this special day. To the lady who so lovingly shaped our family into what it is today, we love and remember you in all that we do everyday.
