Home Turf is a new exhibition co-created with young men from East London and LCF students, using football and fashion as a starting point for deeper conversations around identity, masculinity and self-expression.
Many young men, particularly working-class and Black men, continue to navigate spaces where their stories are overlooked or misrepresented, with limited opportunities to be seen and heard on their own terms.
Delivered by LCF’s Portal Centre for Social Impact in partnership with Ashton Jones-Frame, Home Turf opens up those conversations, challenging narrow perceptions of masculinity and offering a more honest, personal perspective.
Home Turf is programmed as part of The Music is Black Festival, an East Bank-wide programme of events, performances, dance and screenings taking place across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from April to November 2026, celebrating the V&A East Museum’s inaugural exhibition, The Music is Black: A British Story.
Visitors can also explore Resonant Matter, running alongside Home Turf, which examines the spaces and scenes where music, fashion and community come together.
