The theme for May is CREATE. It was chosen in collaboration with our global partner Adobe and illustrated by Ana Grigorovici.
This marks the first time we have ever worked with a global partner to select a monthly theme. Because at CreativeMornings, we believe everyone is creative—and Adobe couldn’t agree more. Together, we’re bringing you the motivation and accountability you need to bring your ideas to life.
For our theme CREATE, we’re throwing a month-long celebration of YOUR passion projects!
We understand the challenges of creating something you love. From fitting it into your busy life to fighting off imposter syndrome; the struggle is real. And one of the biggest hurdles is a lack of accountability. So, let’s come together and support one another!
What if we gave our personal creative projects a collective deadline?
Release Day on May 29th is when we all finally share that special thing we’ve been working on. It’s a motivating moment to declare, “here it is!” No matter how imperfect or polished it may be.
We’ve teamed up with Creative Quests on an entire month of practical tips and accountability sessions leading up to Release Day. All culminating in an online gallery showcasing your creations! Check out everything we’ve got planned for you!
Let’s share your creativity with the world!
Make a commitment to yourself and pledge to share your personal project on Release Day. We’re here to support you! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Our April event was dimensional with a cinematic atmosphere that had us absorbing every word of Aladrian’s purpose driven talk. With full honesty from childhood to now and all the discoveries in the midst, we were invited to understand a the importance of quiet, the necessity of connection and the undeniable threads that brings us together. Thank you Aladrian for your beautiful talk, in all the ways.
Thank you to our location sponsor, the Fleet Center, it was a stunning way to experience our event. We were lucky the Library Foundation for the advocacy efforts of the places we love so much! Thank you to our awesome coffee sponsor Vigilante, always keeping us caffeinated with your delicious and thoughtfully sourced coffee. Our Print Sponsor Hudson, coming though with these gorgeous postcards by local artists Sylvia Fernández, some of which had the Mayor’s address so we can share why the art are essential.
We are so thrilled to see all of you show up every month, and we love hearing what you’re working on during our 30sec pitches. Don’t forget to submit your events before the next event if you want to share.

Thank you to our incredible team, making it all happen, sometimes at the expense of missing the talk. We could not do this without you all!
✨ April’s Creative Mornings San Diego delivered ✅ and the Fleet Science Center was the perfect backdrop for it.
🎤 This month’s speaker was the incredibly inspiring @aladrian_noel , and the energy in that room was something else. Real talk, real creativity, real community.
📸 These are the moments worth showing up for. The conversations that stick with you, the people who remind you why you do the work you do and remind you that the best person you can be is completely YOURSELF.
🏛️ Huge thank you to the @fleetscience for hosting us in such an incredible space. ❤️
🗓️ If you’ve been sleeping on Creative Mornings San Diego, this is your sign to join us next month.

We are so happy to announce our April Speaker, Aladrian Goods!
Aladrian Goods is a designer, communicator, community builder, and connector. She spent over a decade shaping experiences at companies like Intuit and Yahoo — crafting the words and flows that millions of people moved through every day. But somewhere along the way, she started asking a different question: what would it look like to design for genuine human connection? That question led her out of tech and into community, where she founded For The Goods — a creative studio dedicated to producing people’s best days through intention, integrity, empathy, and energy — and partnered with Future Is Color Studios in Barrio Logan to build something slower, more intentional, and more real. Her flagship experience, the Listening Room, gathers people around music and asks them to show up fully — with presence, openness, and care for the person next to them. She’s guided by the belief that how we listen improves how we connect.

Our theme for April is EMBER. It was chosen by our Poulsbo chapter in Washington and illustrated by Sarah Gordon.
The literal meaning of ember is a small piece of burning or glowing coal or wood in a dying fire. But as a metaphor, it means so much more.
Our Poulsbo chapter had this to say about the significance of this month’s theme:
“Embers represent the quiet, enduring remnants of fire—what remains after the intensity fades. They carry a smoldering potential, a subtle strength that holds heat long after the flames have gone. As a quieter community outside the city, we may not always burn the brightest, but we never burn out. Our spark lives in reflection, resilience, and the space we have to pause, think, and grow.
In those calm moments, we find what many others miss: the steady glow of ideas, relationships, and dreams that don’t need noise to thrive. Embers remind us that even after challenges or change, something powerful remains—ready to reignite when needed. We hold that same quiet fire within ourselves, and in community with each other, we kindle more.
Together, we tend the quiet fire—fueling one another through presence, care, and shared warmth.”
What ember is quietly glowing inside you? And what new fire will it ignite in your life?

This month’s theme of LOCAL was fully embedded in our speaker Bilal Bikile talk — from his tie, to his jacket to artists to his story as whole — it was the epitome of local. Thank you Bilal, for sharing your journey of trust, creativity and community, and showing what that looks like when we give ourselves the chance to believe in the things that matter.
We were at our beautiful Central Library, who so generously sponsor our space. If you didn’t get a chance to check out their table, they’ll be back next time we’re at the library (May). Thank you to Hudson Printing, who this month printed Bilal’s terrific photography. We hope you love snail mail as much as us and mail some of them! Big thanks to our sponsors, the Holyfield and San Diego Made Factory (check out their upcoming events!)
And of course where would we be without our incredible local community that shows up each month and lets us bring them these memorable moments of connection. Thank you for showing up, thank you for braving the stage and sharing your initiatives, and thank you for volunteering your time!

To Bilal Bikile for reminding us that sometimes you have to lose yourself to find your voice.
That ego death you spoke about…
that shedding…
that quiet unraveling…
That’s where creativity breathes.
You didn’t just give a talk—you gave us a practice:
name the people around you. honor them. say their names out loud.
Because when we name each other we refuse erasure.
That’s the work.
And we’re committed to continuing it.
Tap in with us at CreativeMornings
every last Friday of the month.
Tomorrow is hug a creative day aka CreativeMornings talk day aka get inspired Friday aka start next month right day….whatever name you call it, we’re happy you’ll be there!
