The new Oak Park Library is officially on the way!
Councilmember Henry L. Foster III, Mayor Todd Gloria and community members celebrated the groundbreaking of a new state-of-the-art library.
At 20,000 square feet, the new two-story building will be about four times the size of the current library, allowing for expanded programs and services.
The project is fully funded, with state library grants covering the majority of the cost.
It's expected to be ready in the spring of 2028.

Meet the graduates of 2025 & 2026!
This past Tuesday, the SDPL Adult High School Diploma Program held their annual ceremony for these hardworking and dedicated students. A total of 79 students completed the program this time around—the biggest yet!
The day may have been cloudy but brightened up with the smiles from graduates and their loved ones.
Thanks to the support of @CarnegieCorp , @CAstatelibrary and @libraryfoundationsd , these students received scholarships for free tuition and the Program has expanded! Students have two pathways to earn their diploma—@smarthorizonshs
