We were so inspired and made sure to soak up all of our time with this group of industry titans (and @vanityhillscott before her mat leave 🥲)
sharing a little FAQ I get while planning the @creativeeducatorconference each year! worth every minute but impossible to do everything at the same time to the standard that I hold myself to- so I don’t! I plan my calendar to allow me to show up in the best way in that timeframe!
“you’re like a proud mama”… I heard this from so many of our amazing @creativeeducatorconference members who spoke at @theresetconference this week!! I was beyond honored to be the keynote at Reset, but it is such a gift and privilege to get to cheer on the other educators in our community and to see them lead 🤍🤍
@creativeeducatorconference was incredible and I’m still thinking about it 🥹 Last year I was in the audience + loved it so much, I bought my ticket again as soon as registration opened! Lately, it’s been a season, but there was no way I was missing this. Gem after gem, every session hit right when I needed it. I sat front row both days so I could be super present. I wanted all of it. And as fate would have it, I spoke on a panel about balancing life + entrepreneurship alongside wonderful women. I kept it real, didn’t sugarcoat a thing + it felt like a conversation with friends. ❤️
That’s the kind of conference this is. Two days of learning, connecting and dancing with people I’d just met. It makes you want “just one more day,” but that just means I have something to look forward to. Yes, I already got my ticket for next year!
@laylee_emadi , the way you pour into this event + your people shows during and after. Thank you for having me + thank you for being you. To my new friends, let’s keep doing big things until we reunite next year. 🤗
Next up for me, Mom 2.0. See you there?
people think it’s about the outfit
but for me
it’s always been about the conversation it starts
I’m kind of an introvert extrovert
I can be social
but I’m not always the one walking up to people first
so I learned early on
if I wear something that stands out just enough
people will come to me
it turns into
“I love your outfit”
“where did you get that”
and just like that
the conversation is already started
no overthinking
no awkward intro
and honestly
some of the best conversations I’ve had
have started exactly like that
especially in rooms like @creativeeducatorconference
because the right conversation
can change everything
are you the one who walks up to people first
or do you wait at conferences?
Back in Chicago, reminiscing my time at the @creativeeducatorconference ❤️
And boy, we HAD A TIME! 🙌🏿
Third year as MC, and it was so much fun co-emcing this year.
From the in-depth keynotes, late-night lobby chats, and the dancing (sorry, not sorry), my heart is incredibly full.
This community is truly something special. Every time we gather, something shifts.
The way we show up for each other, cheer each other on, and speak life over each other, there is none like it!
Thank you, @laylee_emadi , for creating a space where people can show up fully as themselves. Watching this grow from the very beginning has been unreal.
Until next year 🤍

I didn’t feel like the most powerful woman in the room.
I felt like a beginner.
And if I’m being honest…
I hated that at first.
Because on paper, I’m not new anymore.
But in this room?
Women who have been in their craft for years.
Deep relationships.
Fully expressed. Fully certain.
And me?
Having moments of…
“Wait, who am I to say anything here?”
“Am I even adding value?”
“Do I belong in this room?”
And then it hit me.
It wasn’t actually about the room.
It was old shit.
That familiar feeling of being on the outside.
Trying to find my place.
Wanting to connect, but also feeling like everyone else already had.
And I could feel the pull to adjust myself.
Tone it down.
Figure out how to “fit.”
But I didn’t.
I stayed.
I watched where I was judging myself.
Where I wanted to earn my worth in the room.
Where I was about to abandon myself before anyone else even could.
And instead… I chose me.
Because this is what no one really talks about:
Expansion doesn’t always feel empowering.
Sometimes it feels like you’re the least experienced person in the room
questioning everything.
But that’s the room.
That’s the edge.
And if you can stay with yourself there…
you don’t just grow.
You become someone who no longer needs the room to validate her.
You become someone who no longer needs the room to validate her.
Two years ago, I was sitting in the audience at this exact same event.
Same room. Same stage.
But a completely different version of me.
Back then, I had this dream of wanting to speak. I knew I wanted to be on stage, but if I’m being honest, I didn’t really have anything “ready.” Nothing perfectly polished talk and no big plan.
But I did have a feeling.
So I decided to bet on myself.
I upgraded my ticket to VIP, which came with a lightning talk. Five minutes on stage. That was it, but it was just enough time to put myself out there and see what would happen.
I remember being nervous and questioning if I even had anything valuable to say.
But I did it anyway.
And that one decision? It changed everythingggggggg.
The photo and video content from that five-minute talk opened doors I didn’t even know existed. It led to speaking opportunities, podcast interviews, collaborations… all from simply raising my hand and saying yes before I felt fully ready.
And now…
I just co-Emceed that same event @creativeeducatorconference
Thank you @laylee_emadi for the opportunity! 🥹🤍
Tap in quee, if you’re in a season where you’re showing up, trying, building, and wondering if it’s working…
This is your reminder to stay the course.
Your moment is coming.
Also… this is officially the start of my Emcee era and I am OBSESSED. 😂
So shameless plug: if you or someone you know is looking for an Emcee for an event, you already know where to find me. Slide in my DMs 🛝
✨ 😮💨 I forgot how much I needed to be in a room with people who get it.
Came home from @creativeeducatorconference feeling so inspired and also… weirdly calm?
Because it reminded me that marketing and running a business doesn’t have to feel like chaos.
Most of the time it’s not “you need more content.”
It’s “you need a clearer message.”
Back to work, back to building, and I’m 100% applying what I learned.
Thank you @laylee_emadi for such an incredible experience. Can’t wait to come back next year!
