@SceneHome : After three successful editions, Cairo Design Week has become a must-see for emerging and established designers, students, and design enthusiasts alike. Each year, audiences return not only for the exhibitions but also for the stories, collaborations, and cultural moments the event creates. Behind this growing influence is Creative Districts, founded by Hisham Mahdy and Yosra Sherra, the entity that manages, curates, and transforms the week into a year-round creative vision.
Creative Districts operates across three pillars of work:
Flagship Projects – a platform like Cairo Design Week brings together standout talents across design, art, and fashion.
Temporary concepts – Initiatives such as the FDD, in collaboration with Maison Pyramide and Mai Galal, and Salon Samiha, a Creative Districts project & concept during this year’s Design Week. In collaboration with Else Lab (design and curation) and Communitas (narrative), this space became a revived experiential cultural hub.
Permanent Projects – Long-term initiatives creating lasting value, with new announcements coming soon.
Across all pillars, the focus remains on activating heritage spaces and reviving cultural touchpoints.
As Yosra Sherra explains, “Creative Districts simply aims to reinvent how culture is being experienced.”
This ensures every project - whether a design-led platform, temporary concept, or permanent destination - carries a consistent purpose: celebrating identity, nurturing talent, and fostering meaningful collaborations. By combining creativity, cultural insight, and strategic partnerships, Creative Districts delivers both impactful short-term initiatives and enduring contributions across the region.
