My second time seeing the bat show (yes, you heard me right) in Austin! 🦇
A few bat facts:
• Austin is home to roughly 1.5 million Mexican free tailed bats each year.
• Most of the bats are female.
• They eat up to 30,000 pounds of insects each night.
• They return to the bridge a few hours before sunrise.
• The 1980 renovation of the Congress Avenue Bridge accidentally created the perfect home for them to raise their pups.
