I enjoyed the beautiful tulips at Sherwood Gardens in Baltimore last week- favorite photo is of course number 4 😊🐶...I really became obsessed with the red, white, amd yellow mixed ones and the bed that they were in ( photos 1, 7,8) - my favorite Sherwood tulip of 2026 🌷💛❤️.

magnolia tree / Havre de Grace
... what is all this buzz about bluebells ? ...I decided to find out on Monday . There is no better place to chase Virginia Bluebells than Virginia - so I figured why not go to there ?!
I visited 2 parks on Monday along the Potomac River and I was in glorious blue bliss (blue happens to be my favorite color 😊). I have certainly seen bluebells along hiking trails - but the quantity and quality made me fall in love with them. So yes all you bluebells lovers - I get it 💙.
Photos 1 amd 2 are from Riverbend Park and photos 3 -6 are from Seneca Regional Park in Fairfax County VA. It had just rained - so everything was beautiful and fresh - and there were sime nice puddles along the trails as well .

...bye bye blossoms...and just like that the blooms have faded and I am wrapping up my Tidal Basin/ DC cherry blossom posts for 2026. On Monday, the Basin was full of petals - but the trees still looked full. Early risers were treated to a gorgeous sunrise. A nice way to end peak bloom 🌸🌅.

...after no colorful sunrises last year during the short lived peak bloom - I was happy that we got 2 sunrises this year with very nice colors.
The morning in this photo had relatively still water which led to a nice reflection. I love pink or firey red sunrises - but I appreciated the beauty of the oranage-ish tones in this one 🌅🧡💛🌸.

...white is the new pink 🤍🩷...I primarily post sunrise or low light shots during peak bloom - where the Yoshino blooms take on pink or purple hues and tones ...but looking through my photos - I was struck at how lovely the blooms look in early morning light. The 1st one almost looks like an infrared shot. Such beautiful white blooms !

...and so it begins. I spent some time Tuesday morning at the Smithsonian's Enid Haupt's Garden in DC to see my favorite spring bloom - the pink magnolias . I wasn't sure if the freeze on Tuesday night would knock them out. They survived ( yay) - so you still have time to enjoy them ! 🌸😊.
