If youāre new here, then you might not know who āello yellowā is. Thatās because I abandoned her. I left her for dead because she reminded me of all my pain, all my grief, all my heartbreaks, and losses. So I buried her away, dissociated and even disassociated from the color yellow for a while. I changed my name several fuggin times on here because I have BEEN LOST. How do I navigate who I once āWASā all the while being who I have yet to become?!
(EYE)DENTITY. EGO.
It wonāt let go.

Let us know if you plan to come!
While the āJae Eraā was all about photography, my new baby Afro Sol Arts & Wellness calls for some much deeper work. This next chapter will include workshops, community spaces, poetry, podcasting, exhibitions, storytelling, and wellness experiences. Iām excited to grow this with you all and thank you for sticking with me through all my shifts āØ
From the looks of this photo you would not be able to tell that:
1.) I bled through my white pants and stained one of the restaurantās chairs (very embarrassing at my big age but fibroids will do that to you. Blog post on that topic later) and,
2) My oldest FLEW off the round-about thing at the playground and as a result, I had to curse out some big ass kids and their parents too. Because why tf are you letting them spin it that damn fast while tiny children are on it? All the parents and kids were staring at me and being awkwardly silent and I gave zero fucks to be a New Yorker in that moment. Very proud to curse you out. And will do it again. The parents did end up monitoring the round-about after I gave them my two cents. Becauseā¦BIG MAMA SHIT.
Sometimes I do crazy things like drive my kids to 4 different cities in a 7 day span. Was it worth it? 100 percent. Would I do it again? Maybe. But air travel is always better. It was challenging and there were MANY rest stops along the way but my spirit needed proof that I could handle it; proof that I am strong, after all. šŖš¾āØ definitely recommend taking road trips with your kids š¹
