Join us for the last spring session of Capoeira and Maculelê at Da Purp. Both cultural arts were created by Africans and their descendants in Brazil to preserve their culture and fight for liberation. Capoeira is a game of attack and defense. Maculelê is a dance with sticks. Both arts feature live music which we will also learn.
All ages are welcome, however, minors should be accompanied by an adult. It is okay if you cannot attend all 3 classes.
Classes are free. Donations will be accepted to support Da Purp if you are able. Please reach out to Lalena at [email protected] with any questions.
