I’ve been lucky enough to partner with the San Diego Museum of Art since 2020—creating murals, installations, and immersive activations for their largest annual exhibition and fundraising gala.
This year’s Art Alive & Bloom Bash theme was inspired by Toulouse-Lautrec’s Paris, and I teamed up with @createwithgusto and @walteranderson to create a 3D, interactive painted installation + guest photo moment (swipe to the last slide for the full write-up!).
I was devastated to be out of town and miss the big event and exhibition this year, but luckily @melissaleigh stepped in to help set up the installation, @createwithgusto gave me a play-by-play throughout the weekend and we have album upon album of guests photos that I conveniently photoshopped myself into here.

We've been keeping this under wraps and it's finally time to unveil 'La Vie en Siène."
Created as a photo backdrop for the @sandiegomuseumofart signature fundraiser Art Alive and inspired by the art of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec which is currently on view at the Museum. This piece is meant to invite guests into the scene and become part of the composition of a Toulouse Lautrec style poster.
Florals by @walterandersens have brought the vision to life and we are so grateful to be part of such an amazing weekend for the arts.

Ilan-Lael translates to Hebrew “a tree that belongs to God,”
I had the pleasure of photographing @polychromist at the breathtaking homes and art studios built by James Hubbell. This other-worldly design integrates art, nature and community against the Santa Ysabel landscape.
Today the @ilanlael Foundation serves as an art education and nature center, a retreat space, and a place for all those seeking inspiration in beauty, art and natural surroundings.
The property is truly breathtaking and really moved me almost to the point of tears. You could feel the love and care it took to build and the joy of those who maintain it. I wanted to push myself creatively with these edits to make the finished product worthy of the beauty of the location.

And my weekly fashion hyper fixation is 🥁 ...
The gorgeous costume design by John Bloomfield and Ann Beverly for Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (1991) starring Kevin Costner (not even trying to do a British accent), Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (stunning as maid Marion) and Alan Rickman who thought was the scariest guy ever as a kid and fast forwarded all of his parts.
Bloomfield and Beverly also did the costumes for the Mummy Franchise which has led me down another rabbit hole and think will be revisiting those movies tonight. Which look is your fave and how do you think we could translate some of this info in our own day to day dressing?
I bought an old Kodak digital point and shoot camera from the thrift store on a whim and brought it with me to Miami last month for Art Basel, just to see what would catch my eye to capture. It felt freeing to be limited to a small little device and not have as much control. What you see is what you get.
Anyways here are a few snapshots from the trip.
