Create Baltimore was proud to stand alongside artists, advocates, and lawmakers for the signing of the PACE Act into Maryland state law.
Maryland is now only the third state in the country to pass legislation protecting artists’ creative expression in court, ensuring that lyrics, poetry, and other forms of art are not treated as criminal evidence without clear relevance to conduct.
This is a major step forward for artists, culture, and creative freedom in our state. Thank you to @govwesmoore , Senator Charles Sydnie, and the coalition of organizations and community leaders who helped make this possible.
We believe art is expression, and deserves protection.
