Our End of Year Celebration was a wonderful way to wrap up Cohort 4 🥳🎊   To all our Fellows, thank you for the dedication and hard work you’ve shown this semester. Balancing school, work, and your personal lives is no small feat, so take a moment to recognize all that you’ve accomplished. We’ve witnessed incredible growth in your leadership, teamwork, communication, and other professional skills. With over 18,000 hours contributed this year, your impact speaks for itself. 🌟 Fellow Spotlight 🌟   Nehemiah’s start at CPP has been a successful one! Majoring in Electromechanical Engineering, Nehemiah serves at the Lyle Center where he helps support a sustainable future. He enjoys the work he puts in at the center because he likes being able to help, support, and give back to his community. We had our training this month in collaboration with the Career Center! 💫🙌   Fellows had the opportunity to speak with career coaches, Cherrie and Xiomara, who guided them through the many valuable services that the Career Center provides for students. They encouraged Fellows to reflect more deeply on their career paths and demonstrated how to use resources like VMock and Big Interview to strengthen their resumes and interviewing skills. 📑   Thank you to the Career Center for providing such wonderful tools to our Fellows! 🧡💙   #cpp #californiavolunteers #collegecorps

🌟 Fellow Spotlight 🌟   Danelia has been making a difference at her site and in the community. Serving at Lopez Urban Farm, she has not only deepened her understanding of sustainability and food security, but also embraced the opportunity to become a changemaker within her site. Our 2026 Mid-Year Leadership Workshop: Growing Together as Leaders: Learning from Experience, Leading with Purpose, has come to an end. We had many impactful speakers such as California State Senate’s Sasha Renee Perez, California State Assembly Member Jessica Caloza, and GO-Serve Director Josh Fryday. The day was also energized by our amazing emcees, radio hosts Nico Blitz and Jackie Ramirez from 92.3 LA. Throughout the workshop, our Fellows participated in breakout rooms designed to spark meaningful conversations, build community, and strengthen their leadership skills. In these dynamic and interactive spaces, Fellows connected with peers through activities centered around collaboration and leading with empathy. Each session encouraged them to share their lived experiences and grow not only as individuals, but as a collective. 🤝 In our Fellow-led sessions, our Fellows stepped into leadership roles to facilitate powerful, hands-on workshops. These workshops highlighted the creativity, insight, and passion within the College Corps experience and provided Fellows with a deeper sense of ownership over their leadership journeys. 🌟 Our Fellows also had the valuable opportunity to connect with local alumni who successfully navigated their service journeys, as well as employers at the Corps to Career fair. This month we held our monthly training session with our partner site, Calibrate. ✨   Calibrate joined us at Cal Poly Pomona, where they facilitated connection circles, helping us better understand ourselves and each other.
