Cal Poly Pomona Architecture student Gabby Perez (class of 2027) has won the 2025 AIA Pasadena/Foothill Jean R. Driskel Scholarship. Established in 1971 to honor Jean Roth Driskel, the first female AIA Pasadena-Foothill Chapter President and the third woman to be elected to the College of Fellows.
This scholarship is awarded annually to architectural students: Community College and University students, in recognition of their dedication, enthusiasm, and ability in the field of architecture.

We are excited to announce a few events that will be happening at Firm Day in the IDC! 🤩
From 11am - 2pm students will be able to get a professional head shot taken by a photographer! To get your photo taken it will be a first come, first serve to sign up and secure a time slot with the photographer.
From 12pm - 1pm we will be hosting a panel with panelists and alumni, Mila Volkova from Boulder Associates, Marc Rudy from Taylor Design, Sarah Sindian from KTGY, and Michael Stephens from SGH Architects. Grab your lunch and listen in on a conversation with professionals about the architecture industry.

AO recently joined Cal Poly Pomona’s NOMAS Portfolio Review Session, where Project Manager Victoria Huynh and Senior Designer Erik Ceja provided feedback to students preparing for job applications, grad school, and scholarships.
Organized by the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), the event featured impressive portfolios; clean, professional, and increasingly tech-forward. We noted stronger threads of storytelling in the portfolios that left us inspired.
