May 2026 marks 78 years since the ongoing Nakba and 31 months of genocide in Gaza. As Palestinians continue to face displacement, violence, censorship, and anti-Palestinian racism, our responsibility to preserve and share our history becomes more important than ever.
Teach your children about the Nakba. Keep our stories alive. Encourage youth to participate in educational and cultural activities at the Palestinian Centre, or host a free Palestine 101 session at your school or organization. All activities and supplies are provided by CPCA.
As long as we continue to teach, remember, and share our stories, the Nakba will never be erased

Community Cooks: Palestine part 2!
We couldn’t resist sharing some extra shots of the beautiful meal from our Palestinian Community Cooks class. The fresh and healthy side salads, the aromatic spices of the rice and chickpeas, the warmth and tenderness of the chicken, all finished with a dollop of herby yogurt on the side. It was as delicious as it was colorful! We loved cooking with Palestinian chef @chefazizayaseer at the gorgeous kitchen and hall space @cpca.edmonton ! 🇵🇸
Big shoutout to @4b.harm.reduction who picked up and delivered over 130 of these warm meals last night! The 4B team is incredible and we are so lucky to partner with them on this program. Please consider following and supporting their good work in Edmonton!

Community Cooks: Palestine part 1!
Last night @cpca.edmonton welcomed us into their beautiful home for a community cooking class featuring Palestinian cuisine. We were honored to have @chefazizayaseer guiding us through the recipes for lentil soup and Qidreh, a spiced rice and chickpea dish that is usually served with lamb - but we roasted some gorgeously tender chicken! And with two side salads, a simple greens and a fruit salad, it was our most vibrant plate yet!
It was important to carve out an evening for joy and celebration of Palestinian culture yesterday. To honor these recipes and how they continue to feed the people of Palestine and now, our small cooking class in Edmonton. It is a reminder of how interconnected our food systems are, we are. So if we want to create change abroad, it starts with connecting, learning, and sharing with those around you. Thank you to @chefazizayaseer@cpca.edmonton for sharing with us ❤️
