If anyone can credit the graphic artist who created this image please share.  I thought it such a potent way to end an enormous week and make record of where our country is walking towards.  My deepest thanks to presumptive President elect @joebiden for choosing a running mate that gave so many of us the opportunity to vote for our very first FEMALE Black vice president and one so incredibly accomplished and dedicated to public service.  Thank you to Ruby Bridges and @kamalaharris for the confidence you’ve and you show and to all of us fellow Americans, then and now, who make equality happen.

.I AM AN ARTS WORKER. Arts & Culture adds $877B in value to the economy, employs 5.1M people, and is 4.5% of the GDP. @kamalaharris , @the_real_dianne_feinstein , Be An #ArtsHero and support the DAWN Act, allocating $43.85B in relief to the Arts. There can be no full American economic recovery without a robust Arts & Culture recovery. Take action and post a picture or video of yourself with our sign (or be creative and make your own!) that says “I AM AN ARTS WORKER,” copy/repost this caption, and tag 5 friends to challenge them to do the same. Be sure to tag YOUR senators in the above paragraph! Follow @BeAnArtsHero and visit BeAnArtsHero.com to download your sign, identify your senators, sign our open letter and learn more. #ArtsWorkersUnite #ArtsHero #SaveTheArts

This pic is my own different kind of fireworks.  It’s a reminder to me that we may think we own the land we are on but we own it no more than these Gerber Daisies. This year I’m tired of the noise and smoke of traditional fireworks - the brazen and bombastic arrogance of our current president turning our energy away from the care of each other during such dire threat to our health and our dismal, pitiful leadership and response to the pandemic. Don’t get me wrong - I love the idea of America but we have yet to fulfill its promise — saying all lives matter is the same as our forefathers saying ‘all men are created equal’ while keeping people enslaved, while robbing native indigenous people from their lands, while terrorizing black lives for decades with lynchings, segregation and systematic racism. And while the rich get richer and who gives a damn about the rest — certainly not America.  America First - in student debt, prices for drugs, mass shootings, gun deaths, incarcerations, oil consumption and the list of despicable firsts goes on and on under this President. The emperor may have no clothes on but he is the king of projection -  masterful how a draft dodger (I mean bone spur-er) can question the patriotism of those who took a knee in peaceful protest and squelch it by turning the protest against police brutality into a stand against our military and our flag, our national anthem. How those in power squelched taking a knee that then becomes us dying under the knee of that power and then to call us the re-writers of history and feign shock at the retaliation of repression and then call for those who are protesting to be removed and for them to be ashamed.  To fan hate at sacred sites of our indigenous citizens and post then delete but never denounce ‘white power.’  Well 4th of July has always been a bit of a rub for me — even as a child I recognized the hypocrisy of us celebrating freedom — maybe because as a young ‘fem’ boy I learned first hand how we treat those who are “different"

Pride is proud (and grateful) to stand on the shoulders of the Black Liberation and The Civil Rights Movement. In honor of this truth and legacy I’d like to recommend the fantastic new album Rainbow Boy by @keiynanlonsdale . The entire album is to be celebrated and for this weekend’s 50th Anniversary of Pride his song Gay Street Fighter is on repeat. #blacklivesmatter #blacktranslivesmatter #pridemonth 🤎🖤🤍💙💚💛🧡❤️💖 “we’re all just a little bit gay”

I stand in solidarity with my fellow BIPOC theater makers. Racism isn’t my fault but I’m committed to it being my problem. Will you join me, will you join us ? . #weseeyouwat
