Le Soleil rides its white horse to @frabs_magazines to present its first art-fanzine LAPIDARIO on Wednesday, the 15th of April at 18.30, made in collaboration with the artist Trystan Williams @trystanwilliams2 .
Williams' work focuses on the practice of laser-engraving phrases found online onto small stones he encounters IRL. This multidimensional research preserves the irony, personal stories, and narratives of life in the second millennium written by anonymous users, anticipating a future in which, without electricity, they will be lost.
At 19.00, Williams will be interviewed by Lorenzo Zaffaroni - aka @dieblauedecke - the academic researcher in cultural sociology who investigates the intersection of artistic languages, the political agency of aesthetic forms, and the transformation of cultural fields.
For the launch, a water-repellent book jacket was created by designer Manfredi Montalto -aka @memefredi - re-using an old parka of mine, a weirdly cute fabric found in the market, and yellow "code di topo".
Last but not least, @vere.cundia - aka the best friend-support system ever - will play nice tunes to keep everyone in a good sunny spirit.
See you there! 🌞

@florania__ & LE SOLEIL at @fondazionesozzani for the presentation Songs for Beasts.
LE SOLEIL was invited by Florania to live print 100 limited-edition posters on site during their airbrush performance. With the intent of documenting the flow of the performance, each poster features a scan of the tools used during the event, capturing their continuous transformation in the collective creation of one-of-a-kind tees.
While I was walking up and down the hall of Fondazione Sozzani, #MatteoBertini @whoislucien was playing his sound piece written for the occasion, which featured a lot of ROARS.
Thanks a lot to everybody involved in this kinda hippie gathering of souls during Milan Fashion Week.
LE SOLEIL is a nomadic publishing entity that uses solar energy to publish magazines, photographs, and art books by connecting a solar panel to the printing device.
LE SOLEIL inhabits public spaces to shorten the distance between editor and reader, igniting a spark of bonding, dialogue, experimentation, and co-creation in the streets, at the park, and by the rivers.
LE SOLEIL publishes on demand and aims to lessen the exploitation of natural resources, waste, and energy consumption—practices functional to the world of mass quantities.
LE SOLEIL guarantees the uniqueness of each copy thanks to a stamp that marks the day it was printed, shifting the focus from the value of limitation in quantity to the value of creation for others.
LE SOLEIL is about performance, as the process of printing is impromptu and transparent, open to the participation, interaction, and distraction of, with, and by the public.

I'm deeply thankful to everyone who in the last 6 months has been so supportive, enthusiastic and dazzled about this.
