To complete our introductions in anticipation for our coming-together this Sunday, we’re delighted to bring to your attention @mykrolite , the new experimental live project by audiovisual artist and sound designer @ahsounddesign (formerly LAKES). From early hybrid electronic live shows with the @mutantlounge collective in northern Vietnam, he was inspired both here and in his native North Lancashire by the clash between nature and industry, and the spaces where they converge. Observing the traces of forgotten crafts, organic processes, and industrially etched landscapes, mykrəlite assembles a fractured, genre-blurring sound. Hypnotic field recordings are mimicked by hardware-based sonic communication, the result pulses with the tension between digital, analogue and perceptual systems—where calm finds unrest, purity meets erosion, and space decays into grit. Continuing with our artist intro posts for the first rend’ of 2026, we are thrilled to have another Cosmic Render debutant in @aer.side , the solo project of French artist Gustave Robic. A producer with an incomparably broad set of talents and diverse tastes, we have witnessed his sound explore sharp electronic music with sultry vocals, moving between alt-pop and club music spaces, through to his current work which shifts toward more ambient and exploratory forms. Having relocated to Berlin his practice continues to evolve across scenes and disciplines, while his work continues to find new meaning and contexts. As sound-designer and composer Aerside explores the space between control and emergence - where digital processes, textures, and imperfections become expressive, and where the machine is pushed to the edge of singing. His approach reflects an ongoing interest in electronic purity and the emotional potential of sound systems themselves; to this we say yes - yes, please! Often performances involve using the unnatural resonance of a shower holder to construct the harmonic series - needless to say we’re ultra-keen to see where his creativity and ingenuity will lead us this time, and to be part of the room captivated by his natural sense for showmanship as he explores the perceptual boundary between chord and note, riding through dissonance and consonance as a spectrum. Ali is an Iraqi/British musician, sound designer and stalwart of OG experimental expo @saom_ldn whose work often blends the worlds of storytelling with experimental music. Recent explorations have occupied the world of microtonality, combining Arabic Maqam with different styles of electronic music - mainly techno, drone, and field-recording - with a focus on synthesis, live sequencing, and generative sound creation. Overjoyed to publish another chapter of our greenhorn experimental event in obscure music’s stronghold out in West London, @nextdoorrecords_ - this time around we have four earth-inspired performances taking us on a journey through evocations of the natural world through musical expression and digital technology None more so than @a_e_e_a whose artistry in depicting and interacting with the planet has encompassed sound, sight and smell - part of a creative response sensitive to the totality of nature, characterising performances which develop in such a way as to portray the unerring vastness of the environment not just as subject and setting, but as a living presence. Whether using the resonance and acoustics of specific items found in the wild as instruments or detailing an atmosphere found in urban or industrial spaces, expect to be lost in an ambient, open-space ready for psychic exploration It also gives us great pleasure to welcome @mochyndaer to the bill - an artist who can regularly be found either weaving spiritual sound-spells rooted in the sonic homeland of Wales on Netil and AAJA radio, or touring the continent providing live gong performances for techno festivals, and who will be incanting for us a ritual made from drones and field-recordings, live instruments and voice.
