Yesterday, City Council unanimously approved a new ordinance to help protect San Antonians from cryptocurrency scams tied to Bitcoin Teller Machines (BTMs) and Crypto ATMs. 👏 This action follows a 3-signature memo led by Councilwoman Teri Castillo alongside Councilmembers Marina Alderete Gavito (D7), Misty Spears (D9), and Marc Whyte (D10) calling for a special session on digital asset fraud prevention. As scams continue to target seniors and working families, San Antonio is taking proactive steps to keep our community informed, protected, and safe. 🩵

BIG WIN for housing access! 🎉🏡 Today, the City’s Planning & Community Development Committee unanimously supported funding a City-sponsored housing voucher incentive program, an initiative led by District 5 Councilwoman Teri Castillo. Last April, Councilwoman Castillo filed a City Council Request to launch the COSA Vouchers Program, aimed at expanding voucher acceptance across more rental properties and opening doors for families across San Antonio. With a recommended $500,000 investment in the FY2027 budget, this program could support an estimated 900 households, prioritizing veterans and encouraging more property owners to say YES to housing vouchers.🤩

This morning I stood alongside my Council Colleagues, San Antonio Veterans, the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR) and the San Antonio Apartment Association to reinforce my support for stronger housing policies that effectively ensure all San Antonians, especially veterans, have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. 📢 Grateful to everyone who showed up and spoke up for this critical issue. Thank you to  @cosa_cd1 , @councilwoman.marina , @cosa_cd8 , @saaatexas , @saboardrealtors , and Jason Bridgman with TRU Asset Management for standing with us. ✊🏽
