The City of San Antonio and H-E-B are proud to announce the re-launch of the Diabetes Insulin Assistance Program starting May 15, 2026, until the allocated funds for this program are exhausted. This program aims to support individuals who struggle with the cost of diabetes insulin prescriptions and raise awareness about the no cost diabetes self-management workshops offered by @sametrohealth . The Diabetes Insulin Assistance Program is designed to assist anyone living in San Antonio/Bexar County who needs help paying for their insulin prescription. The program will cover up to $100 for each insulin prescription, including refills. For a list of participating H-E-B pharmacies and more information about the Diabetes Insulin Assistance Program, please visit SA.gov/Health or call 311.

I had the opportunity to participate in the San Antonio Fire Department’s CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test), the first assessment of a recruit’s physical fitness to determine whether or not they join the academy. It was grueling… 😩 But your boy passed! 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you to all of the members of our Fire Department for your service to our community. It is physical, mental, and emotional work, and you are so appreciated for it! Shout out to @safd.recruiting for allowing me to experience this. Follow them for more information about the recruitment process.

Now and forever, we stand alongside our trans siblings in the fight for liberation. ❤️ Join us in celebrating Trans+ History Week May 4-10, and learning about the triumphs, achievements, deep history, and ongoing struggles of the transgender, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, and two-spirit community. Thank you to our local trans+ community who continue to show up authentically and powerfully as we build a more beautiful San Antonio.

San Antonio made history. 🏳️‍⚧️✨ For the first time ever, our city has issued a proclamation for Transgender History Week, a powerful reminder that trans stories, lives, and futures belong here. Thank you to the Mayor and Councilmember McKee-Rodríguez for leading this moment and standing with our community. We’re especially proud to have Thrive represented by Leo Castillo-Anguiano, San Antonio’s first transgender council member (2025), who continues to show up for LGBTQ+ youth every day. “This tells every young trans person in San Antonio that you are not alone, that you belong here. Your history matters, and your future does, too.” At Thrive, we believe in that future, one where every trans young person feels supported, respected, and free to be their full, authentic self. 💛 #TransHistoryWeek #ThriveYouthCenter #SanAntonio #TransJoy #LGBTQYouth

This Tuesday, our team was out in Council District 2 neighborhoods, connecting directly with the community through our Pet Care Connect initiative. Alongside dedicated ACS staff, incredible volunteers, Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez and his amazing D2 team, we spent the day meeting our neighbors and providing meaningful support for pets and the people who love them.  We went door to door, having real conversations with residents about Chapter 5, responsible pet care, and the resources available to help keep pets safe, healthy, and at home. At our home base, we welcomed neighbors passing by and made sure they had access to that same support and information.  Here’s what that impact looked like:  🐾 70 pets microchipped  🐾101 Customized pet tags  🐾171 resources distributed  🐾161 spay/neuter referrals or scheduled appointments  🐾 3,836 pounds of pet food distributed  Every number represents a family supported, a barrier reduced, and a pet given a better chance to stay with their people.  This is what it means to meet the community where they are—building trust, sharing knowledge, and working together to keep families and pets together.  A special thank you to Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez and the District 2 team, our amazing volunteers and ambassadors, SAACS staff, City of San Antonio Parks & Recreation, Daisy Cares, the Food Bank and Boys and Girls Club for helping to make this work possible.

Ever wished you knew when a train was on its way? 🚂 We’re working on a solution to that: a real-time train notification system that syncs with your GPS. Which train crossing slows YOU down the most? 👀

H-E-B has long been a cornerstone for families on the Eastside, and we’re grateful for that. As District 2 continues to grow, residents have been clear: they want to see this location grow too. I’ve sent a letter to begin that conversation. Now I want to hear from you: What would make this store better for your family? Bonus points if you can guess what I’m making for dinner tonight! 👀😂
