mookie made his journey across the rainbow bridge today. it was peaceful and comfortable, and he passed in our arms at his favorite place, pentalina farm.
when we picked mookie up as a puppy, i was 19 and @avtate had graduated nyu just days before. on the car ride home, i whispered to mookie through his crate, “i love you — and i’m pretty sure i love your dad, too.” we both knew: this is the team for life.
mookie let me hide my tears in his fur during the loneliest times, was my unwavering confidant as i navigated adulthood, and taught me how to love. mookie’s grin (yes, he smiles) and wiggle butt (no tail) brought joy to everyone we met in prospect park and on the sidewalks of brooklyn.
i have endless gratitude for the lin family vets @buckscountypetvet@naplesfamilyvet who held our hands and paws every step of the way.
our little family is utterly heartbroken. but we know mookie will continue to shepherd us through life until we can all be together again. we love you, mookie 💔

my (ridiculously talented) mom @jenniferlin1100 directed the film, which tells the life story of George Lee, an 88-year-old blackjack dealer in Vegas whose remarkable ballet past has been forgotten until now. 🃏
George originated the role of Tea in Balanchine’s Nutcracker and broke racial barriers in ballet. i like to think the hundreds of Nutcrackers my mom watched me perform from stage right prepared us for this project (swipe for #DanceMom™️ pics).
