It was so much work but absolutely worth it in the end. There was so much going on in my life that made all of this feel as if the world was crashing down around me. In some ways it was. In others, just the world getting ready for something new. I really want to thank @luxurylaw for trusting me with this. Seriously thank you. So for our fashion history buffs the research in to recreating this kirtle was half the battle. With Agnes Sorel as our baseline it took an unbelievable amount of trial and error when it came to getting the kirtle as close to historical accuracy without loosing touch with modern fashion. It's somewhere in between and it really came out beautifully. Also the team was unreal and it was so fantastic to collaborate on this crown with @emminemina and the small army of @nitterbug @hltdesigns , @mayfairemoon , @iridescentrose , @clockwork_kraken , and @katers_potatere19 And seriously a massive thank you to the incredible people at @metalliferous & @paramountwire without you're last minute help the crown wouldn't have been possible. Super late to posting this, but I fell down a rabbit hole, crept further in to the dirty thirties, had an existential crisis, and dove head first back in to d&d... But yeah here are some ridiculously gorgeous stills from @iamhalsey 's film coming out later on this month. It's really surreal to see a crown I made during a covid quarantine/lupus flare fever dream used in a project like this. It's buck wild. Thank you again to @luxurylaw and the team for allowing me to have this wild experience. Bit late to the party here, genuinely too burnt out to write anything half as eloquently as what @tillietheclown had said in thier totally surprise drop of a video with @devonrodriguezart But maybe to echo and add in a bit to what they said about trying to keep the flame going when it feels like the walls are closing in, I'd have say this. Keep doing the good work. Keep fighting. Lay the proverbial landmines when and where you can. None of this shit will get better without some really hard work and sacrifice from all of us, our cis het allies especially. The folks that are the most visibly queer need your protection now. Now next week, definitely not two months from now, but now. We need you more than ever. Keep us employed, keep us physically protected, the dolls need you. Be safe everyone. Oh yeah and I did the costume lol 12 yards of a cotton jacquard that tested my patience at every turn, somehow made in under 50 working hours. Mostly hand sewn. Had the rough concept cooking for a bit but Tillie and I didn't really have the push to make it real until very recently, I guess it was all meant to be.
