A functional sculpture commissioned by @archik for the late 2025 Ex Libris group show. Conceived as a modular assembly, it is a reconfigurable vessel for books.
We are honoured to see this piece recently featured in Savoir Faire Magazine, published by @mobiliernational , dedicated to French craft, design, and decorative arts. With special thanks to @yaminabenai .
The piece responds to a condition of scarcity by embracing polyvalence, through its multiple uses within a single form, at a time when the cultural value of physical books is shifting and digital, artificial systems increasingly replace the tangible and natural.
Both structure and container, its load bearing form explores cast aluminium in a precise yet poetic way. Its geometry recalls the papyrus scroll, the most common form of a book for multiple millennia.

To be placed in dialogue with centuries of remarkable design, from historic Napoleonic and Louis XIV pieces to defining contemporary pieces, is not something we take lightly. The Mobilier National collection carries objects that once embodied power and ceremony, alongside experiments that reshaped how we live.
Furniture, for us, is both a marker of its time and a proposition for the future.
