«Proof of Existence» — une nouvelle exposition du collectif artistique Corooted à Paris. 📍 Galerie d’art indépendante L’Aléatoire (29 Rue de Bièvre, Paris) 🗓 24 octobre – 2 novembre Vernissage : 24 octobre, 19h – 23h L’exposition interroge ce qui façonne notre identité aujourd’hui, ce qui restera après la mondialisation culturelle, et ce qui peut être considéré comme une preuve de notre existence. [//////] Avec le développement des technologies et l’intensification de la mondialisation, le processus d’homogénéisation culturelle devient de plus en plus visible et rapide, entraînant les cultures locales vers la transformation, voire la disparition. Dans le même temps, des traces de notre diversité persistent. Avec "Proof of Existence", nous cherchons à les saisir, en réfléchissant à ce qui façonne notre réalité présente, à ce qui se cache dans ses zones d’ombre, et à ce qui subsiste comme témoignage de notre existence — dans toutes nos différences et similitudes. Les artistes présentés s’inspirent de leur expérience personnelle et de leurs observations. À l’intersection de la recherche et de la réflexion apparaissent des éléments nourris à la fois par la culture locale et mondiale, par des questions d’identité personnelle, ainsi que par des contextes historiques et politiques. Les participants représentent des peuples autochtones : Sakha, Oïrad-Kalmouk, Bouriates et Komis. Yumzhana Sui is a multidisciplinary artist from the Republic of Buryatia. Shadows of Existence reflects on the fragile balance between continuity and erasure within cultural memory, exploring the fading of Indigenous voices through the visual language of Surealia, where reality meets mythology and cultural beliefs photo documentation @thesvetamaximova

Baïne Choros, an Oirad-Kalmyk multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker, presented Vessel — a translucent sculptural form resembling a human torso, illuminated from below. The installation reflects on the body as a vessel of memory — a fragile structure that holds both personal and collective experience. It speaks of care, fatigue, and what continues to live within us when the visible fades away

Sveta Maximova, a Sakha artist, explored cyclical time in her ritual video performance IJE BUOR SALGYN, which is inspired by the Sakha concept of the three spirits of the soul. Her piece HIDDEN connected political and personal invisibility, combining AI-generated sound with reflections on concealment and resistance photo documentation @thesvetamaximova

Leroy Berger, a Sakha artist and designer based in the Netherlands, exhibited Native Tongues Defiant, a project that focuses on the personal and political relationships between indigenous identity and language, alongside Kini, an animation reimagining gender symbols from Sakha folklore. His works question how indigeneity can exist beyond geography - how it can live through gesture, text, and imagination photo documentation by @harvijay_j @thesvetamaximova

Anastasiia Komarova, a Buryad artist and curator living in Korea, presented two pieces: Buryad Conversation (a video documentation of a collective action) and Invisible Support, an installation made from fragments of family textiles once belonging to her late grandmother. S’inspirant des traditions bouriates et chinoises, elle explore la manière dont le bouddhisme et le chamanisme façonnent le quotidien, le transformant en une réalité magique. Par ce processus, elle réinvente la mémoire culturelle, ravive les visions ancestrales du monde et donne forme aux mythologies contemporaines. Multidisciplinary artist from the Republic of Buryatia. Her artistic realm, Surealia, is a world inspired by demonology and folklore, where ancestral imagery intertwines with contemporary experience. Drawing on Buryad–Chinese traditions, she explores how Buddhism and shamanism shape everyday life, transforming it into a magical reality. En repensant sa position en tant que représentante d’un groupe ethnique dans un discours «post-impérial», elle explore l’état actuel du paysage sociopolitique à travers le prisme de savoirs hybrides sakhas. Sveta crée des spéculations visuelles et textuelles qui croisent images fixes et images en mouvement. Interdisciplinary artist from the Sakha Republic, now living in Europe. Rethinking herself as a representative of an ethnic group and living in Europe, she explores the current state of the socio- political landscape through the prism of hybrid Sakha knowledge. Elle travaille la vidéo, la VR et la sculpture 3D pour explorer comment l’absence, l’invisibilité et l’obstruction peuvent devenir matière. En combinant méthodes documentaires et stratégies artistiques, KSTI HU crée des installations et films qui tracent les approches et échecs liés à des savoirs occultés. Sa pratique aborde l’invisibilité historique et actuelle des Komis arctiques, traduisant histoires orales et savoirs incarnés en formes tangibles, tout en affrontant la peur induite par l’État, les pratiques de silence et les traumatismes intergénérationnels. Berlin-based artist, born and raised in Komi, working with video, VR, and 3D sculpture to explore how absence, invisibility, and obstruction can become material. Combining documentary methods with artistic strategies, KSTI HU creates installations and films tracing approaches and failures in relation to untold knowledge.
