On Flora Eve… It’s just one more sleep until the world famous Flora Day, Helston’s annual spring festival celebrating the end of winter and marking the arrival of the new vitality and fertility brought by spring. If you’ve never experienced Flora Day then you're really missing out and we suggest making the trip tomorrow. The festivities start at 7am with the Early morning Dance, followed by the Hal-an-Tow at 8.30, The children's dance stars at 9.50 with over 1200 children from Helston’s four schools filling the street, the midday dance at, you guessed it, 12 noon before the final dance of the day when the dancers who started the day off bring it to a close with the 5 o'clock dance at 5pm.
