Well this was QUITE the day! With @thelmto playing for @britishvogue #vogueworld on the red carpet! Amazing to see some incredible fashion, play with my pals and be in the presence of the almighty Kate Winslet (swipe for her being just incredibly gorgeous!) If you can’t get a good selfie in front of about 1 million red roses, when can you!? They let me wear 1000inch Jimmy Choos ✨ 🎻❤️

Decided to give my new @cosmicears a workout for this one 👂 Little transcription of ‘Pusher Love’ by the legendary @justintimberlake Not as big a string section as he had, but I think 8 of me and 2 of in house Moog provider, @dangilesmusic is quite enough 😂 Nice stringy video for my first insta reel 👵🏼 #cosmicears #justintimberlake #violinist #popviolin #stringsection #pusherlove #finalcutpro #moog #sub37

🎬 NEW SERIES: 60 SECOND BREAKDOWNS – VOL.006 Can You Hear The Music (from Oppenheimer) Nick Squires & London Music Works Every Friday, I break down my tracks—showing how cinematic scoring and full orchestral orchestration come together in my covers and remakes with London Music Works and Silvascreen Records. This week: Can You Hear The Music from Oppenheimer, composed by Ludwig Göransson—a standout piece that captures both intimacy and scale in one of the most talked-about modern film scores. Featured on my album Imitation Games Vol.2. In contrast to last week’s breakdown, this track leans into evolving textures, subtle rhythmic pulses, and that signature build—blending organic orchestration with a more contemporary, almost experimental edge… here’s a quick look at how it was created 👀 If you’re into film scores, cinematic sound, and score breakdowns—this series is for you. 👇 What track should I break down next? Check out my full catalogue on Spotify and drop your suggestions in the comments… 💾 Save this to revisit 🔁 Share with someone who loves film music ❤️ Follow for weekly breakdowns #cinematicmusic #filmscore #musicbreakdown #oppenheimer #ludwiggoransson

🎬 NEW SERIES: 60 SECOND BREAKDOWNS – VOL.005 FAIRYTALE (from “Shrek”) Nick Squires & London Music Works Every Friday, I break down my tracks—showing how cinematic scoring and full orchestral orchestration come together in my covers and remakes with London Music Works and Silvascreen Records. This week: Fairytale from Shrek, one of the most memorable tunes from the Classic Film, and one of many from the trailblazing Juggernauts of film scoring, John Powell and Harry Gregson Williams, featured on my album Imitation Games Vol.3. To completely contrast from the last breakdown, Fairytale has lush and complex instrumentation, supported by some lovely live Woodwind… here’s a quick look at how it was created 👀 If you’re into film scores, cinematic sound, and score breakdowns—this series is for you. 👇 What track should I break down next? 🎬 NEW SERIES: 60 SECOND BREAKDOWNS – VOL.004 TO BUILD A HOME Nick Squires & London Music Works Every Friday, I break down my tracks—showing how cinematic ideas and pop influences come together in my covers and remakes with London Music Works and Silvascreen Records. This week: a cello pop cover of one of the most beautiful songs ever written, The Cinematic Orchestra’s To Build a Home, featured on my album Imitation Games Vol.1. With very sparse instrumentation, this track relies on expressive live elements, warmth, and subtle effects… here’s a quick look at how it was created 👀 If you’re into film scores, cinematic sound, and pop covers—this series is for you. 👇 What track should I break down next? Lark Ascending… A shortened for Instagram (but still wayyy too long for the format) video of one of the musical highlights of my year so far with the wonderful @lgsorch It was a true privilege to play alongside so many beautiful and supportive friends. I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely group of people cheering me on both in the orchestra and the audience. Took a bit of a leap saying yes to this concert, having not performed solo with an orchestra for about 15 years! Learning a new solo alongside my regular gigs was definitely a challenge but one that was hugely rewarding. Not only was it so good for my playing and practice but also so fulfilling to achieve something like this when I could easily have said no. My aim was to capture the mood of the piece in the time it was written. The storytelling is so immense, which is why it’s become such a popular classic I think. If you’ve the patience to stay until the end, please enjoy the audience not knowing when to clap! What a joy, hope these snippets show various light and shade ❤️ thanks for every message of support before the concert, means a lot to know other believe in you when you’re feeling the nerves! Thanks @phoebesnelling and @adventuresofchristopherb for steering the ship ❤️ #larkascending #lgso #orchestra #soloviolin #barbican #stgiles

Happy Monday! The sun is shining, here’s a couple of minutes of zen with @lgsorch to start the week. We had our first proper rehearsal of Lark Ascending after the sight read through for the orchestra a couple of weeks ago! It really clicked into place this week for me with practice and it’s feeling secure and settled, so now I can just enjoy taking the time and playing such a beautiful and culturally important piece of music. I love the way he brings out other instruments in the orchestra and gives them solo moments to bounce off of in the violin part, it makes it feel such a collaboration with the other fabulous musicians ❤️ If you want to hear the whole thing plus Ravel, Daphnis and Chloe suite no.2 and Dvorak Symphony No.9 (a programme of absolute icons) come along on the 19th October, St Giles Cripplegate. Such a treat when an artist sends you a copy of their new album on vinyl 🧡 and more of a treat when it’s one you worked on! Truly one of my fave projects of last year was helping to arrange and record strings for @hangracemusic album. The live shows we did in November were a highlight of the year for me, so much soul. The album itself is just stunning. Do go and listen to Bigger Picture now! Some amazing musical creations and beaut musos ⭐️ #hannahgrace #violin #recording #homesession #homerecording #viola #bushhall
