7 years ❤️ Gratitude runs extra deep when it’s been a hard road. This past year has been one of the hardest we’ve faced together. Major life challenges brought us to the edges of what we thought we could hold. We were personally stretched, and pushed to the limits in our relationship. And yet… We’re still here. Here we are. From the very beginning, our love was built on foundations of devotion, truth, and freedom. We honour each other’s past, hold each other in the present, and walk toward the future side-by-side (for however long we both choose) 7 years so far... 7 years of choosing each other, and courageously calling each other into our Truth. We support each other in the hard times and the good. We challenge each other. (no subject is off-limits) We call each other into Truth when one of us forgets who the fuck we are (usually me. lol!) This year, Matty helped me awaken even more fully into my Power. He held steady when the waves were crashing, and then created space for me to rise. 🐦‍🔥 I am beyond grateful for the woman I have become in the context of this catalytic sacred union. Our relationship has been such a powerful accelerator of growth! And we celebrate this every day! Relational Alchemy in its finest form - Turning lead into gold ✨✨✨ The path hasn’t been easy. Today I entered into ceremony, but not in the way I planned. I was meant to be beside this lagoon in Mexico right now. The Moondance in Bacalar began today. This was to be my fourth year — the completion, and the ceremony where I receive my Nahuatl name. A name that is given only after 4 years of commitment, praying with the pipe under every full moon, and offering yourself fully to the medicine of the circle. I have been building toward this for four years. And I am not there. In October, I was hospitalized with a serious health issue. It was a powerful initiation — one that asked me to finally, truly, put myself first. I have healed a great deal since then, but I am still in a recovery process, and going into the intensity of this ceremony would not have been the right choice for my body. The old version of me would have pushed through anyway. I always do. I am committed to my service and I can do hard things. But something else became clear. The more powerful choice — the more courageous choice — was to stay home. To heal. To honour what my body is asking of me. The Abuela (Grandmother of the Moondance) gave me her blessing to remain in Canada. My place in the circle is held. I will return in 2027 to complete my 4th year. In the meantime, I have already been given a Nahuatl name to work with for this coming year. I won’t share it here as it is sacred (and won’t be fully mine until it’s given to me in ceremony next year). But it’s already changing me....calling me into self-honour and sacred boundaries. Into everything this year has been teaching me. For the next four days, Matty and I are in ceremony here on the land in Collingwood — working with the directions, tobacco, my pipe, the fire, and our sauna. Abuela Ursula also shared with me a limpia (cleansing ritual) for my healing that we are doing each day. This year, i am learning that self-honour is the most devoted act of service I can offer. And that saying Yes to my true path includes honouring my body’s No. With every prayer and offering, I am dancing in spirit with my sisters in Bacalar. 🌊 —— Here are some photos/videos taken after ceremony the last 3 years

Shedding is so much more difficult when the conditions aren’t right. If you’re finding it hard to let go and truly change, check your environment. Is it conducive to change? or keeping you stuck in your old skin? Remember, your environment isn’t just your physical space - it includes your thoughts, your relationships, the food you eat, the social media you consume… Transformation requires us to be intentional about the environment we create to support the shift. What is imagination? Are ideas generated by the brain or received from somewhere? A few days ago, I sat with @copper_lighthouse , a dear friend of mine and deep mystic, for a session to support the writing of the book I’m working on. We started by talking about creation. Books, businesses, songs. About how creating isn’t something we do inside our heads alone. That question has been with me for a while: if consciousness is non-local, and the brain acts more like an antenna, what is imagination really? Are ideas made from nothing, or received from somewhere? She offered a simple reframe that changed my entire relationship to writing. Although my book is fiction, what if I wasn’t inventing a character from scratch, but simply writing someone’s biography? I’ll admit it, part of me still resists the idea that the fictional character I'm writing about does exist in some other plane of existence. But practically speaking, it dissolved a huge amount of pressure. I no longer felt responsible for “creating everything.” The book stopped feeling like an extension of myself, and started feeling like something I’m in relationship with. Less pressure. More dialogue. She then guided me into a meditation. There, I met the book's main character. Not as a construct, but as a presence with texture and emotional gravity. He felt more alive than the version I’d been writing about, with new characteristics that hadn't occurred to me. She invited me to sense everyone connected to this book. The characters. The future editors and publishers. And the readers, each discovering the book at exactly the perfect moment in their life journey. What struck me most was how supported I felt in this project. Because of how little of it was actually “mine.” It felt like a switch from urgency to quiet trust: show up, listen, do my part. Some would call this panpsychism or animism. Others might call it collaboration with consciousness.
