While illustration is always welcome and enjoyable, I do love a good graphic design project and this was one of them! New work for The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. There was a little illustration thrown in for good measure....
The Vancouver Recital Society @vanrecital campaigns are everywhere! As the season goes out with a bang, thought it a good opportunity to showcase a few favourite designs over the past year. Gearing up for the next season, our 13th together, and the 46th year for the VRS!
Book cover illustration and design for the third installment of Back Cat Books’ West Coast Grimm anthology series by author and publisher Shanon Sinn. Black Cat anthologies are collections of thirteen stand-alone supernatural stories set in the naturally enchanted backdrop of the Pacific Northwest of BC. Such a pleasure bringing these books to life visually, using traditional techniques of gouache on illustration board! @shanonsinn
New work for new client @bclivenetwork ! Pacific Contact is an annual four-day performing arts showcase and professional development conference, which was held this year on Granville Island. This was a fast paced project with brochures, schedules, maps and signage design. So glad they trusted Copilot Design to deliver!
2025/26 Season Brochure for Ballet Kelowna! The challenge: integrate 3 individual dancer photos into a cohesive and striking cover design. Give each show it's own brand through typography, while keeping a consistent look and feel for the season as a whole. Do you think the objectives were met? What an inspiring project just completed with @vancouverfringe ! For our second year together, we explored a world 'outside of reality' with a cast of characters roaming Granville Island. Original Illustrations (gouache on board), graphic design including the mammoth Fringe Guide, and Transit concepts all part of the fun. Vancouver Fringe Festival runs Sep 4-14, 2025. Concepts, illustration and design. @vanbachchoirs Mother/Land illuminates the ancient and yet contemporary story of Naomi and Ruth, a mother and her loyal daughter in law who escape war and famine only to face discrimination as they establish a new life for themselves.
One of my favourite projects each year, is designing The Vancouver Recital Society's Season Brochure! Always something new to discover working with this brand. This year, a focus on all the incredible piano players coming to the stage, interpreted graphically! @vanrecital
