A special one wrapped up in Arlington a couple of weeks ago.
This structure was handcrafted by @tonygoodselloakframes using larch supplied by @copfordsawmill .
From a pile of timber to a stunning garden building overlooking the lake.
Natural materials, clean detailing and a roof built to age beautifully over time.
Definitely hoping this is the first of many projects like this.

The first of our customer/ friends work.
I love showcasing what happens to our timber. We mill the trees here but don’t often get to see wha happens. It’s also good for us to know what’s being done so we k what can and can’t be used. And as you can see from this small selection, scraps, firewood and milled timber all being used. I can’t tag but tag a to Ron Carson, Steven knight and Duncan wardlow. Anyone else who uses our timber please share your work with us so o can share it on
We would just like to take this time to wish everyone we have worked with, met, helped and been helped by. A very merry Christmas. As many of you know the sawmills taken on a new direction the last couple of years as we have had to adapt, improvise and overcome many challenges with running a business in this day and age. But we’re continuing to improve and keeping up the quality that has meant you all keep coming back. I will try and answer my phone quicker and emails sooner but…. No promises sorry have a lovely Christmas all and a happy new year. We are back open on the 5th of January enough time for my lads to relax and recharge
Some mega progress on site this week with Architect’s Cabin 🙌🏼.
It looks like I’m taking all the credit here, but my good friend Alex and his team did all the hard work getting the shingles on and Danny and Gabe did most of the painting in the freezing cold 😜. Thanks guys!
For the curious, we are using a natural black pine tar treatment which is traditionally used in Scandinavia.
We should be finished externally by Christmas, and hold your breath… finished internally by Spring. There will be a full update to come soon… and of course multiple cabin diary episodes to be released, which I am very behind with 🤦🏻♂️

I haven’t posted enough of the amount work we have carried out to restore this grade II listed building. Throughout the 500 years this building has stood, it has served so many purposes!
Starting its life initially as two individual oak frame shelters one to store wheat, the other hay with a cart driveway between them. It’s unknown when it was clad but we do know the building had work extending the south face to include a fire place around the early 1900’s serving as the local village hall, where locals gathered to dance, sing hymns with some even getting married within this building! It’s been a pleasure to have been able to refurb and restore this building so that it can be used fully for its owners as part of their house for generations to come!! #listedbuildingrenovation #listed #gradeiilisted #heritage #renovation #refurbishment #lime #limeplaster #limerender #oakframedbuilding
