@spacebrat ) “Everything That Glitters,” running through March 29, 2025 at CONTROL Gallery (
@control.gallery )in Los Angeles, is the artist’s first solo LA exhibition. Drawing from her Afro-Caribbean, Latinx, and African American heritage in the Southern US, Monsegue explores spirituality, identity, and femininity through her signature experimental airbrush techniques. The exhibition features works like “The Pony,” depicting a Memphis strip club, and incorporates unconventional materials such as synthetic hair and recycled furniture to present contemporary Southern African-American experiences with softness and complexity.
