Grateful for the opportunity given to me by @buendnerkunstverein@buendnerkunstmuseum to work on Bündner Kunstpreis 25 over the past year.
The project develops as a reflection on radicalisation processes following the privatisation of the internet. These mechanisms are exposed through a central installation that refers to recognisable forms of sustenance and infrastructure that evoke a collective dimension. The latter is supported by two interventions positioned at the two possible entrances to the exhibition: a sound intervention by Leo Mathis and two texts by Francesca Brugola. Both activate the exhibition space in a subtle way: while the sound reveals the more uncanny and otherwise unseen character of the central installation, the two short stories demonstrate how, often unconsciously, our view of events can be easily influenced by narratives that we accept as true.
Commons of Tragedy will be on display until Sunday 25 January at the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur.

Over the past years, we have been researching tree resin as a material in artproduction. At the core of the project is the development of recipes that investigate how tree resin can be transformed into a casting material and what potential this process holds for the artistic context.
We will publish a book-length publication that brings together our research, documentation, and material recipes, sharing our processes and experiences in order to make resin more accessible as a material within the field of art.
More information will follow over the course of the coming year.

In 2024, I met Fadri Cadonau in Argentina, where I documented his performative installation work 'Dach über Kopf' in the streets of Buenos Aires. The piece later won the 2025 Kunstpreis awarded by the Bündner Kunstverein. (Full length 21:00)

Ongoing project developed between Paris and Duvin. The aluminium bits are remnants of burnt public waste bins, found and documented during my stay at Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris.

Seine Arbeiten sind meist wenig spektakulär, eher still und verhalten und von hohem ästhetischem Wert. Bei genauer Betrachtung offenbaren sie jenseits ihrer formalen Qualitäten aber immer auch inhaltliche Ankerpunkte, die existentielle Situationen reflektieren und gesellschaftliche oder weltpolitische Themen aufnehmen. Mit dem Kunstpreis wird Fadri Cadonaus ebenso engagiertes wie poetisches Werk gewürdigt, das sich sehr offen zeigt und doch immer präzise formuliert ist.
In der Jahresausstellung 2024/2025 war Fadri Cadonau mit dem Werk "Das Dach über dem Kopf" (2024) vertreten. In dem aus rohen Gipsplatten gebauten Haus wird ein Video gezeigt. Darauf erkennt man den Künstler, der aus Bauabsperrungen mitten auf einer Strassenkreuzung ein Haus baut: als Insel oder Hindernis im pulsierenden Leben der Grossstadt, in der sich jeder seinen Platz suchen muss.

Die Förderung beinhaltet eine Einzelpräsentation im @buendnerkunstmuseum im Rahmen der Jahresausstellung der Bündner Künstlerinnen und Künstler 2025/2026, sowie ein Videoportrait.
