This piece is my most recently finished painting, which is part of the duo show Natural Inversions with @huawang_wanghua curated by @john.silvis.art
In creating this artwork Iāve noticed a lot about my process of painting and have had some new insights on how I want to use layering and surface structures. Iām excited to work on many new paintings that I feel inspired to do based on the process of getting ready for the current show in Berlin.
.
A big thank you to Hua Wang, John Silvis, @florianpaulkoenig with @noa.contemporary and @philipp_g_wise for bringing this exhibition to life.
.
Itās still open to visit Tuesday through Sunday from 12 to 6pm at Lottumstrasse 14 in Berlin Mitte until May the 16th.
The finissage is taking place on the 16th of May from 6-9pm and there will be an artists talk on the 12th of May in the exhibition as well. Hope to see you there :)
āAnsichtssacheā
Oil on canvas, 180x150cm, framed with oak
This piece is part of the duoshow āNatural Inversionsā with @huawang_wanghua curated by @john.silvis.art opening tomorrow!
It is about how we see the world through our human lens and how there are so many more perspectives on everything. How things can become multiple things as different people or other beings look at it. And also Ansichtssache literally translated means a thing to look at, which seems to be the most basic description of any painting. My work centers around the blurry boundaries of human made structures and so called natural growth, and how everything is in constant transformation and movement.
Vernissage is on the 30th of April
The show is open till the 16th of May

HUA WANG will return to Berlin with a new exhibition during BERLIN GALLERY WEEKEND.
This time, she partners with @emanuelheim for the duo show NATURAL INVERSIONS, curated by New Yorkābased @john.silvis.art
The opening will take place on April 30, from 3pm to 8pm, at LottumstraĆe 14, and the exhibition runs until May 16, when the finissage will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm.
As Silvis writes in his curatorial statement:
āHistory tells us there is nothing new under the sun. Yet human nature continually presses forward, driven by innovationānew technologies, new methodologies, and the rapid automation of information. (ā¦) By oscillating between abstraction and presence, the spiritual and the profane, the work of Wang & Heim affirms our state of flux and invites viewers to engage the ambiguity that recognizes these conditions not as obstacles, but as generative forces.ā

A really new piece created in summer 2025, itās oil on canvas and it has many layers and has been around in my studio for a long time. I somehow limited myself to not using black for a long time and started using it again in this piece. Iām actually so happy to have found some darkness again and somehow go back to my artistic roots.
.
If you would like to see more of my new works just let me know, Iāll happily send you a fresh portfolio.
These two pieces are special to me. I made them or finished them this summer. The final feelings and ideas came to me dancing at #fusionfestival
The painting on the bottom is called āKnochenarbeitā - ābones workā which is a german expression for hard labor or maybe work that grinds oneās bones. And the top painting is named āerster Atemzugā - āfirst breathā which is more about the emotion of starting fresh, being ārebornā after a difficult time. The combination of the two somewhat came naturally to me as I was still working on them. They symbolize the journey I went through, in the last year or two and how one can learn from hard times - and most importantly how much I feel like myself and trust my artistic path! IN IN IN by @zebrakatz (who I got to hear at fusion for the first time) really feels like that kinda energy I try to channel right now.
.
Also thank you @florianpaulkoenig and @noa.contemporary for your support and trust in me

āElementeā is the first sculptural piece Iāve made in years. It was a gift to my partner and since its creation at the end of 2023 lives in our home since then. Since then Iāve been imagining making many more of these elemental bubbles and I think just now Iāll head over to the studio and go cut some wood.
.
Itās made of different sheets of wood, acrylic and oil paint.
