HEY! Today I am launching a new YouTube Channel (find it in my bio) and I’d really appreciate it if you would watch our first video. Laurel and I sat down to talk about my last YouTube channel and how thanks to my SEO background we had a pretty successful formula for getting views and earning money on YouTube. The demands of that formula though were pretty intense and it dictated my schedule to a level that ultimately wasn’t healthy, it was bad for my mental health and bad for our relationship.
All that said creating content on YouTube and streaming on Twitch cultivated some very valuable skills and became the foundation of what we do at Content On Call. It was a fun hat to try on for a while, the gaming YouTuber hustle, but the price of that hustle was just too high. Now we make content and tell stories about non-profits and the people crazy enough to think they can make our world a better place. Theirs are stories worth telling, so this new channel starts with our story, but then will follow behind the scenes as we work with non-profits that are making such a positive impact on our community.

Dream Week San Antonio kicked off Black History Month and teamed up with Musical Bridges Around The World to bring just a glimpse into African American history. From Jazz to Gospel to folk songs written during the Underground Railroad. Black History is American History and these performers shared music that lifted up every voice to sing.

1. Slow down. Put the phone away. Be present with who is in front of you.
2. Tell your parents you love them. Say thank you. They wiped your @ss and made sure you survived to adulthood. You don’t know if this could be your last #Thanksgiving with them (or anyone). Tell your friends you love them too ❤️.
3. Thank the Earth for the nourishment it provides. Think about all the things that had to happen, the process, the people, the animals, to get that meal on your table. Take a moment and allow yourself to truly feel appreciation for it all.
4. Make a list and see how many things you can be grateful for, even the messy things. Find the silver lining and sit in the awe that is the miracle of life on #planetearth 🌎.
5. Remember self care and boundaries. Take naps, drink water, have snacks, say “no thank you. Set yourself up for success.

One of the charities we help with their media needs is @theheartsmilesorg which is an amazing organization that helps with their orphanage in Ghana. The Heart Smiles orphanage is home to over 100 kids, many of whom were disabled at a young age or injured working in the mines of Ghana. Where the simple act of reaching middle school is seen as a luxury, the orphans at Heart Smiles are going on to high school and there are already several in college.
