I covered Melbourne, then a different camera person covered each city, all feeding footage back into one evolving edit. Watching each shooter bring their own flavour into a single film was a really exciting way to work.

It’s rare to be asked to not plan a shoot 📸
Content Lion’s brief was simple but refreshing: capture the real character of South Melbourne for a new property development. No shot list, no schedule, just honest storytelling.
At first I had to give myself structure, I tried to make up a little brief in my head. But I found it just didn’t work.
The best strategy was to simply be present and have the camera ready for whatever moments came up.

Last year I had the honour of directing a documentary for @teampwr funded through @screenaustralia and @youtube . It follows PWR’s journey to the two largest Fortnite tournaments in the world. We shot in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Riyadh and Texas over the span of 6 months. There was a lot of janky rigs and sleepless nights but we got it done 💪🏼 I’m super proud of what we pulled off. It was a giant effort by everyone involved, and I couldn’t be happier with the final product.
