What a way to kick things off at Princes Park 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ On Saturday, our incredible community came together to launch the @conquercancer.au world-record relay attempt and the energy was amazing! Olympic medallist, @jemimamontag , kicked things off, completing the first lap followed by the Lord Mayor @nickreecemelbourne and Camp Quality Ambassadors @christianlwelch and @leeroyelliott . We were also joined by an incredible lineup of leaders including @cr_nat_abboud_pentridge_ @alex.makin.au @crmelinasehr @davidsouthwickmp @warren.pickering.onenation.vic and @senator.michelle showing just how powerful community support can be ✨ This month-long relay, founded by Peter Christen and @bjeffery , is aiming to cover 6,500km while fundraising for Camp Quality and @theflorey 💛 Thank you @channel9 for coming down to support ☀️

The moment a child gets to ‘ring the bell’ is very special. It means their in-hospital treatment is over. No more invasive procedures. No more pain from ports or medication. No more isolation. But true healing takes time. @camp_quality Quality time. By giving to Camp Quality, You’re giving these kids and their families. Time to just be kids again. This ia why we are running 29 days. Cancer sucks! Very proud of my cousin @bjeffery and his mate Peter who have decided to not only take on the challenge of beating cancer, but setting a world record as well! The @conquercancer.au relay is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for longest relay, and it is raising money for @theflorey and @camp_quality . Today I got to join in and run a leg before handing the baton to @eddiejeffery . Big thanks to the @parkvilleparkrun runners who shouted encouragement!
