Thankful to @nbcsports for trusting me to be the analyst for multiple events at the Olympics.
Did you know that the Olympics gives out participation trophies? For some athletes, that was the ultimate goal. For others, it meant failure. While this participation certificate is now proudly displayed on my wall, it sat in a box for years, a reminder of mistakes I wasn’t ready to face. My full TEDx is now live! @tedxlasvegas
So often we see the end product. The perfect race, game, business, or routine. We don’t see the process of what it took to get there. When I first learned this fact about Gold Medals I was disappointed and felt duped. After thinking about it though, it’s the perfect representation of what Gold Medals really are.

The Olympic Training Center let us have full access to the entire facility, so we got every Olympian we could that day.
No Olympic journey starts out by aiming for a participation certificate. No high achiever begins by trying to be anything but great. You have to set wild, crazy, seemingly unreachable goals that scare you…and go for them anyway. Even if you don’t quite reach them, coming close can lead to some incredible places.

So thankful for BMX and the lifelong friends it has provided.
Today I caught a workout with 2 friends I have known for over 25 years…nearly my entire life! 25 years ago I was on BMX Factory team with @dannycaluag87 . He was the top 16X getting ready for pro. @brycebetts132 and I were 9 years old just playin in the dirt. 10 years later in 2012 I lined up next to Danny to compete against each other at the London Olympics while we represented our countries. 4 years later Bryce designed the graphics for the bike I raced the Rio Olympics on.
Here we are, 25+ years later all getting together to push through a brutal 90 minute Hyrox workout together on a Saturday morning. Who would have guessed?! So cool, and so thankful for BMX and all the amazing people I’ve been able to meet.
I had a blast hosting the @flobikes Carolina nationals last week! So fun to be behind the mic and tell the stories of these incredible athletes.
What people don’t see is the love and passion behind the scenes we all have to bring these races to life. @wahleysworld is non stop for 3 days. @yeah_im_gmo is a wizard on the tech side of things. @ultimategypsy sprints from camera to camera like he is Usain Bolt. The whole crew behind the scenes are working non-stop to put on a great show and build up the heroes of the sport.
Thankful to be a small part of it. Getting the athletes at their happiest moment is always an honor. See you in Nashville @musiccitybmx
